I know there's some kind of trickery afoot, just like every other "Miracle" claimed by these con artists, but what is it this time?

Or (the Unbelievers' state) is like the depths of darkness in a vast deep ocean, overwhelmed with billow topped by billow, topped by (dark) clouds: depths of darkness, one above another: if a man stretches out his hands, he can hardly see it! for any to whom Allah giveth not light, there is no light!

This is the miracle? This explains unbelievers are in a depth of darkness deep oceans covered by dark coulds...poetic I guess but certainly wouldn't call it a miracle.

This is very very simple. Even at an early date the people believed the deep ocean was dark. They knew this because looking from above, they couldn't see into the deep water. They knew that they couldn't see even in "clear" deep waters because the waters hid the light of the sun. They did not need to confirm this with modern scientific instruments.

You will not find any ancient literature which believed that the deep waters were filled with light.

No miracle and the Quran does not stand up well in comparison to the New Testament in ethics or theology and as literature Hindu epics are better.

The verse mentioned is not meant to be a miracle....

It is just a comparison. Even the verse before this is a comparison.

"And (as for) those who disbelieve, their deeds are like the mirage in a desert, which the thirsty man deems to be water; until when he comes to it he finds it to be naught, and there he finds Allah, so He pays back to him his reckoning in full; and Allah is quick in reckoning." Quran 24:39

Your efforts to demean the Quran are not intelligent.

So this is a miracle huh?

From parting of seas, taking animals, mana from heaven, we have some goat farmers looking into the ocean, not seeing the bottom, and they conclude it is dark down there!

That is a miracle, that muslims looked down while sailing?!?

it just says unbelievers are in darkness and it uses the allegory of being in a dark sea

now they took it and twisted it to say that god said in the ocean its dark

go look at the water you cant see into it so obviously it doesnt take a rocket scientist to say hey its dark down there
