Love yes.
Forgiveness, yes.
Jesus was hardly what you would call a modern day liberal, though some of his ideas were progressive for his time.

Im thinking that some of Jesus' liberal liberties were conveniently removed from any records of his life, I mean, there's no such thing as bad publicity is there? But then I'm a bit conspiracy-theorist sometimes.
You should see the conservative protestant christians in this country, it borders on militant fundamentalism (or should that just be mentalism?). They would quite happily stand outside a new strip joint, sex shop or gay night club and wrath it into the ground with holy-placards and hymns, often seeking benevolent-malevolence from the support of the local councils. It's not hate, it's control and power, ironically like the Romans that were around to condemn Jesus to the jewish sooth-sayers of the time.
Jesus would be a cool bloke to have a pint with, you'd get the full story then, spiked with cynical puns thrown in for good measure.

You think Jesus was a liberal individual? You best read the Gospels again. Jesus never condoned sin, but He did forgive sinners. Jesus accepted and taught Genesis as literal history, not as some fable or even as a parable. He taught about a literal Adam and Eve in a literal Garden of Eden who were literally created by God and who literally fell because of a literal sin which resulted in literal death and a literal curse by God. He Himself stated that He did not come to bring peace on the earth, but division. That's because the truth is always divisive. It is true that Jesus loves sinners, thank the Lord for that mercy, but it is equally true that He hated sin. So what teaching or part of His life could possibly be misconstrued as liberal? -(I'm guessing at your definitions for liberal and conservative)

Why did Jesus try to hide himself from Non Jews and then call them Dogs who would be helped after the Jews ?
Mark 24-27
24: Jesus left that place and went to the vicinity of Tyre. He entered a house and did not want anyone to know it; yet he could not keep his presence secret.
25: In fact, as soon as she heard about him, a woman whose little daughter was possessed by an evil spirit, came and fell at his feet.
26: The woman was a Greek, born in Syrian Phoenicia. She begged Jesus to drive the demon out of her daughter.
27: "First let the children eat all they want," he told her, "for it is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to the dogs."

I am a conservative Christian, and I do not advocate hate. In fact, I invite you to provide evidence that I have called anyone on this forum an "evil name".

you're my kinda person, and i know how you feel. i, too, believe in god, but i don't necesarily belive in everything that goes into a religeon. i don't go to church and i haven't read the bible because i have my own opinions. once, i told someone i knew this and they told me i was wrong and that i'd be going to hell... what gets me is that i'm a straight A student, i don't curse, i'm not gothic, and i don't fight people... i think that any religeon should stand for love and forgiveness, as well as open mindedness toward others and not say things like someone's going to uknowwhere, just because they don't believe the same thing. :^)

I'm liberal, but I respect the conservative branch, even though I disagree with their views. So, come on, let's have a truce. Life wouldn't be any fun if everyone agreed. So let's have fun.

I'm conservative but i am not filled with hate. i would never let hate consume me. I'm better than that and God has taught me not to hate so i will not do such thing.
be blessed!
i would have to disagree with the statement that you made about Jesus being a liberal. He taught us to follow God's word. liberals tend to think that parts in the bible are not to be taken "literal" when Jesus taught us to follow and LIVE by God's word.

Liberal in 1st century AD and Liberal in 21st century are two different things.
I don't think it's really hate your experiences, but rather defensiveness.
