When i try to connect my ps3 to the internet with the ethernet cable, i test the connection and it says it has timed out. How can i fix this?

Make sure you have it set to wired conneciton and not wireless if your using the ethernet cable. You can do this my going to settings and all the way to the bottom you will see network connections.

I had the same problem. It was annoying I'll tell you. I got bored with that, so I went to PC store and got myself a router with VPN support. Now it's OK. You plug your Ethernet cable into router. Then you plug your PC and PS3 into router.

well if you set your setting right and it show that your connection is set be using a cable then go ahead and unplug the router and start it up again and then turn on your ps3 and try again...another thing you might want to try is go to your update and check that out to because your not able to sign on sometime because your ps3 need to be updated......good luck bro!

it means your router doesn't recognize the ps3 ...reset the router either by pressing reset on the router or unplug it and replug it in...
