My stepson recently moved in with us and we have 2 complete Playstation 1 systems. I have NO idea how to set them up. They both have the same cords, the power and the 3 plugs (red, yellow, and white). I tried to plug one into the living room VCR because it had the color-coded holes. I tried hitting TV/VCR and I get a black VIDEO screen. Does the VCR power need to be on? Channel 3 sound right? This is buggin' me. What am I doing wrong? I feel like I must be missing something. Please help *puppydogeyes* And, No, we aren't upgrading to PS2 or 3, we have 2 perfectly good PS1's. :) I guess I am old school.

Red and white - for sound - plug them into your TV red and white sockets. Yellow - video - plug it into TV too (video input - should be yellow). Then plug your PS into power outlet, turn it on - enjoy! :-)
If you have SCART in your TV - you need an adapter. It's a cheap one, it has red, white and yellow sockets on one side and SCART on the other.

I think it has to be a combined effort and what they have to do is come up with a reward system for good behaviour. Unfortunately not everyone (bus driver, teacher, principal, school yard supervisor) is willing to do this. But it works. No child likes to be left out. There has to be a seating schedule for the bus firstly. If he is disruptive he needs to sit on his own or with someone who doesn't seem to bother him or get him going. Sometimes these older kids want to be very controlling and that just forces the child to rebel and CAUSE the trouble you are trying to avoid. It could be something as simple as whoever remains quiet and behaves well gets a treat. And the child with the BEST behaviour gets an even better treat. It could be lollipops. YOU could even buy them if the driver is a cheapskate. The prinicipal must have a say in it, and must be the one to talk to and ensure they have a seating schedule. Believe me I went through this too and finally pulled my kids off the bus because they were getting beat up on and there was no control whatsoever...they kept blaming my kid for it too who would always try to stop this but after I yanked him they realized the problem was not him and only did something when one kid with autism almost stabbed another kid with a protractor. They banned him from the bus which is what they should have done...special needs kids like that should not be on a regular bus...or should seat well away from kids who aggrevate them and set them off...they can't help what they are. Anyhow good luck and just stay on top of it. You reward your son with good behaviour too saying if I hear you behaved I will take you to a movie or to McDonalds or something...but don't feel you always have to buy him stuff...it could be a trip to the park or a visit somewhere.

plug the color cords directly into the TV. plug the power cord into a socket. turn the system on and press "video" or "TV/video" on your remote.
