Normal soap and hot water kills 99% of germs anyway. Antibacterial soap is just a rip-off.

Soap can be very mild and simply wash away surface dirt or it can have properties that leave a residue on the surface of the skin to reduce the amount of naturally occuring bacteria that reside on the skin. An antibacterial soap like Dial was what our doctor recommended to reduce the chances of getting MRSA infections from the Gym. Hope that helps.

soap is soap, that is merely a marketing deal, nothing more.
I worked in a surgical suite for 9 years and I used the real deal, the real anti-microbal soaps, iodine type and hibicleans until that was pulled off the shelf and now the new and improved hibicleans.
the real stuff strips the skin, denudes the oils and such and is harsh. the junk they sell at the store is marketing.
although I like surgical scrub for injuries, regular soap and water does just fine.
for general application at home any soap will do.

Used for cleaning & disinfecting your hands from those nasty germs that you CAN'T SEE! :) So if your not washing your hands after using the bathroom, cleaning up after messing with meat products, etc .... dang people use your common sense if you hope the fast food worker didn't pick his nose while making your Big Mac or after using the bathroom...get a life. Keep some Antiseptic Hand Cleansing Gel onhand and seat wipes for foreign toilets while abroad. Be safe not stupid. E coli + diahrrea are not fun to have...take care.
