any ideas on writing a really detailed and convincing ad on craigslist for babysitting?

Talk about yourself, your experience and qualifications. You're selling a service to people, so convince them you're worth paying for. Did you take a Red Cross babysitting course, do you know first aid and/or CPR, did you grow up with younger siblings, can you cook/prepare food, do light cleaning, have a drivers' license? Why should people trust you with their kids, that's another question to address - If you're a student, mention your (presumably good) GPA. (If it sucks, leave it out.)

Capitalize, use proper grammar, and spell-check when you're done.

If you have any kind of first aid certification from the Red Cross, or have taken babysitter/child care courses from a hospital, etc., list that along with how many years you have been providing child care for others.
(If you haven't taken any of these classes, please look into it, they are generally low cost and don't take long. Too, they will give you credibility with parents that you are serious about providing safe care.)
Line up other people for whom you have babysat and ask them if they will serve as references. The easiest thing for them is to write a brief letter along with their name and phone number. Say in your ad that you can provide references on request and be prepared to give them copies of the letters. (Make copies of a few sets of the letters and invest in a few envelopes so you can give them to people clean and professional looking.)
Mention when you are available to sit, whether you are looking for a regular job for one or two families or are open to working for several families on an as-needed basis. If you can work weekends or overnight, mention that as well.
If you have your own transportation, say so, it's a big plus.
Your goal is to appear professional, educated and flexible.

somebody is asserting they are going to take place at your homestead? it somewhat is a rip-off!! locate an employer putting qualified, experienced babysitters or nannies, or advice from somebody you already know and believe. you're searching for somebody to look after your toddlers! no longer somebody who says they are going to take place at your homestead. with a bit of luck you have presented no practise. i'm shocked you even replied.

I would be care with that, you might be better off giving flyers to your neighbourhood or post flyers in your local daycares etc...places where you won't get weirdos answering your ads...
good luck, be safe...
