keep him outside when you are not at home. When you are home, just make sure every time he wakes up take him straight outside, while hes doing a wee say "do a wee" and praise him when he does. I trained my dog this way, so everytime I took him outside and said "do a wee" he did it automatically !. Or if he must be inside while you are not home, lock him in the laundry with newspaper all over the floor, and lots of toys to play with.

I just got a new puppy too. It is going to be hard to train her when you're not home much. Always take her out before you leave and often when you are home. I use puppy pads now until she is old enough, and I also take her outside when I am home so that she knows it is where she is supposed to go. When you come in from outside give her a treat if she used the bathroom. When she pees/poops in the floor rub her nose in it and say BAD or NO, then place her on the puppy pad.It will take time, its kind of like a baby wearing diapers!!

I had the same problem with my puppy. Make sure to take her outside (or on a training pad) every hour or so. Really praise her when she goes where she is supposed to, and let her know that you are not pleased when she goes in the wrong place. Just be careful that she doesn't think it's bad to pee and poo cause then she will start to do it in hidden places, making them even harder to train. Just lots of patience and consistency and she should figure it out:)

Leave the puppy in the crate during the day. You can put stack of newspaper in the front of the crate and towel in the back part of the crate so the puppy has a comfy place to sleep with some toys. When you come home (don't hang out with your friends after school) from school, take the puppy out to go potty. After he/she goes bathroom outside, praise him/her and reward with a piece of treat. You should take the puppy out after he/she eats, plays and sleeps. If he/she makes accident in the crate, clean it with odor remover (I use Nature's Miracle) to remove the smell. Dogs tend to go to the same spot for potty. Good luck with your new pup!

A crate or kennel is the best way but some one needs to be there during the day to let him out about every 1-2 hours. when you take him/her out of the crate go immediately outside and sit with them until they do their business and praise them for it. do not let them down to run around unless you can watch them. if you have to do something that will take your attention away from the puppy, put the puppy back in the crate. Don't let the whining deter you. Start all over, when you take them out of the crate, take them out side. It will take a few weeks but not real long.

puppy potting training is like potty training a baby you have to teach them. Maybe try laying down pee pads if you are not home during the day. But on the weekend and at night when you are home encourage and make a to do about it when they go outside. They might get the concept that you like it when they go outside.

sad to say the best way is to crate the puppy while u are in school take him out to go pee as soon as u are home and praise it when it goes outside u could ask someone to check in on the pup while u are out and have them take it outside once or twice during the day

KENNEL TRAINING

It is easy and very comforting for the dog.

I buy a nice kennel (one that a dog can stand in and turn around easily in)

Let the dog know that it is ITS home.

At regular times take the puppy OUT of the kennel and the first thing you do is take it to go pee...

Then play and have fun then go pee then put back in the kennel.

While it is in trainig the routine should be the same... same time at the day and same pattern of play time and kennel time.

Put your puppy in a crate while you are away and as soon as you get home take him outside and tell him go potty! As soon as he does it tell him good boy! If you take him to the same spot that is where he will always go. Be sure to clean it up right away and if he has an accident in his kennel clean it up right away. Dogs are related to wolves who live in a den and they do not potty in their den so if he gets used to staying in his kennel while you are gone he will soon learn not to go in there. Good luck and lots of puppy kisses and tail wags coming your way!

Why have a dog if you're not home much? Especially a puppy?
