Really? The topic is on the table. Blackwater is a big part of the Bush occupation plan. I don't hear much in the way of condemnation from anyone around here; so I figure either indifference or outright support is the name of the game. Come on, if you support what Blackwater has been up to, step up to the plate and swing.

Declare yourself.

sean G thinks I'm a socialist because I asked this question.

I guess he's a fascist because he answered?

Bushies, you gotta love their logic.

I'm not a socialist. I don't even intend to collect my social security. I'm in the process of fidning out if I can sign it over to charity.

Black white, right wrong, up down.

Great to divide the world into simple slices.

Doesn't achieve anything, but it feels great.

gunner rosco, I would agree. Let's hand the contract over to another player, since there are clearly problems. It isn't just one incident, you know, it's a string of them, including theft an sale of weapons TO THE INSURGENTS...

Give the contract to someone else. There are plenty of mercs out there.

Bush does care because his administration is good friends with Prince (Eric not the symbol guy (trying to inject a little levity into a serious topic)). I dont think neocons are on board with it completely since the organization is taking a serious beating in the press without anyone speaking up for them. I think Condi sold them down the river at that last meeting we will see.

Blackwater seems to be doing the job they are paid to do - provide security and protect diplomats, government officials, etc. They have not yet lost or let harm come to any of those they offer protection to. What is there to condemn? One of there vehicles was destroyed during the event in question, and I am pretty sure they did not blow it up themselves. All this talk of kicking Blackwater out of the country is just an attempt by the Iraqi govt to score some points with the people. Plain and simple. Their convoy was attacked, and they responded. Unfortunately, Blackwater probably has a more effective "rules of engagement" policy than the U.S. Military. In other words, they don't have to wait around after being attacked to fight back.

So, the Democrats will demand an investigation because...well that is all the Democrats are really good for these days. It will be interesting when it happens to see how many Democratic members of Congress will cry, howl, and lecture Blackwater employees. Because chances are, they probably received security and protection form Blackwater on their little "field trips" to Iraq.

So I guess I just stepped up to the plate and took a cut.

Consider myself declared.

Evidently some do, but it seems most people are indeed indifferent to them. A company has a reputation to maintain, and merely sacking workers for unprofessional conduct isn't enough and can be avoided depending on company policies.

Besides, does it matter if Blackwater is banned from operating in Iraq? Blackwater USA isn't the only military contractor from the US seeking contracts in Iraq, let alone the world - I'd rather hire South Africans to be honest.

Blackwater is a private company, "not part of the Bush occupation plan" They were hired by the State Dept to perform body guard details. Thus releasing combat soldiers for more important duties. If evidence of wrongdoing is presented at a trial and pr oven to be true, the company and its employees will be punished. Until that trial guilt has to be pr oven, not thru liberal gossip and plot theories, But by facts on the table.

Blackwater is a private security company hired for diplomatic use in Iraq. I really don't think the Bush administration cares if Blackwater does the job or a different company.

I will, I worked several times with them and they were Very Professional Men, Especially the "Little Bird" Crews.

Since this Video hasnt come out to the public, I will Not "Lynch" them until I see evidence of Wrongdoing, aka "Innocent until Proven Guilty"

but being your a Socialist who believes in Peoples courts with pre-judged Verdicts I've no doubt without any evidence you've convicted these Men.

Blackwater has fired a lot of the worse perpetrators in most of the shootings, So why condemn all of the companies employees for a few bad apples.

tell you what ... we could either supply an additional 150,000 US soldiers, or keep Blackwater and similar outfits, or hire 150,000 soldiers for the job from some other army -- Egypt and Indonesia come to mind as possibles.

Or would you prefer to simply pull out and create another Islamofascist regime like Jimmy Carter did in Iran??

I am presently reading BLACKWATER by Jeremy Scahill. Yes they are our govt. owned and aproved . The only thing I see honest from the administration is the head shot count of deaths which they say droppr]\ed 50% this month. The honest is, if you get shot in the back of your head by BlackWater. You are counted. Enemy fire or blown up in a land vehicle. You do not make the count. Just love the way our democracy is working.
