Study it hard. Make flash cards, read the info out loud, whatever it takes for the info to sink in. Picture yourself in the math room when you study if it helps. Maybe go to your math teacher after school or during a free period for a little extra help? And take deep breaths during the test- may sound simple but it always helps. Good luck! :-)

The problem may be associated with the pressure you feel to perform well, given you know the subject. This pressure is likely to be enhanced by the expectations of others, again because you know the subject. I would suggest that you think of, say, a time 10 years hence, when you feel this pressure, and how it will all be irrelevant then. Imagine yourself at that time, and be sure that once you have done your best, the outcome has no significance.

You aren't psychotic, you are merely suffering from math-induced stress.
I totally sympathize with you. When I was growing up I had endless problems with math. My father (an engineer) spent his days crunching numbers and couldn't understand how someone (me) could be "so stupid". The extra pressure didn't help me understand math any better.
I think the pressure of your parent's expectations is actually hindering your progress in math. Try explaining to them that you feel that their expectations for you in math are currently too high, and are causing you extra stress.

calm down....OK, study, thats all i have 2 say. don't stress out too much it just makes it worse. try buying a stress ball or something. ur not crazy mentally or physically...study a head of time, lucky for me, i have a good memory....relax, and study but not too hard dont cram it all into an hour, do like twenty min, take a break, and repeat. :)

i am the same way!!!!!!!!!! But i'm now in college, and i stopped taking math ASAP in high school. i stopped when it wasn't required of me to graduate. But all I can say is, stay in math suffer it out because when you get to college you'll have to pay a TON of money to re learn what you already know... thats just my advice. Sorry it doesn't help with your fam, tell them what your going through.

You are experiencing some kind of anxiety - when we build up something too big in our mind about something, you can suffer anxiety and physical and mind reactions to that anxiety.

You're not psycho, you're normal......trust me. What's happening is you're becoming anxious because you know it's not your strong suit. Testing may never be easy for you. All you can do is your best and explain to your parents just what you wrote here.

They'll understand, I promise.

no you are not. If you were crazy, you wouldn't think you are. Sounds to me like you have severe anxiety or possibly panic attack disorder. Tell your parents and ask to see a shrink.
