Very good question. Impure thoughts must be placed at the foot of the cross of Jesus to be washed in his pure blood. For instance, for an angry thought, just say 'I reject that thought and renounce it's source and I place it at the foot of the cross to be washed in the blood of Jesus'. Meditating on wrong thoughts can form habits of wrong thinking, but resisting them with this method repeatedly should chase them away and break the faulty habit. Obviously, to do this you must ask Jesus to come in to your heart, baptize you with HIs Holy Spirit, and empower you to engage in this kind of intellectual warfare. And you should have a bible handy to help teach you right thinking. Call 1-800-759-0700. Go to wayofthemaster.com.

You are a Spirit having a human experience, not a human trying to have a spiritual experience! Eastern teachings are based on the accepted fact that we are not a body nor are we the mind. The brain receives thoughts from different frequencies of mind. What comes into the mind should not be entertained. Looking and letting-go. What we focus on ,say impure thoughts, will gain momentum and allow past patterns to flood the thoughts. Replace impure with thoughts of purity and keep close watch on the thoughts. You are the Master in the mind or the mind has made you a slave.

It is not the impure thought that is a sin UNLESS you dwell on it and allow it to consume your mind. Then it becomes a sin even if you have not actually acted on it.
To get rid of these thoughts I suggest asking God to intervene when ever it happens to block the thoughts out of your mind. Then with all of your strength force yourself to think of something else. I am a Catholic and for me, picking up my rosary and concentrating on those prayers helps me. But any prayers will do if you use them to think only of good things. God does listen in these cases. He is excellent when someone prays for something that will keep their soul from falling. God bless you.

Psalm 139:23-24 encourages us to submit our hearts and thoughts to God. He can determine if there is anything harmful in us that needs to be dealt with. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 explains what to do "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ…" Blasphemous, harmful, and deviant thoughts and inclinations are part of spiritual warfare, and we need God's help to fight them. By studying Scripture, reaffirming the truth in our minds, and Bible memorization, we can greatly diminish or even vanquish intrusive thoughts

If your mind is filled with the things of God there won't be room or time for impure thoughts. Submerge yourself in the things of God. Bible reading, Prayer, Bible study, fellowship, Soul winning, and Christian music. Shut out the world, no worldly music, no worldly television, no worldly movies, no worldly books. Separate yourself from the world and submerge yourself in God as much as possible. You can't control what goes on in the outside world but you can control what goes on in your own home.

Whatever you think works best. If you are a religious person, then pray, read a manuscript of your religion or something along those lines. If you are not religious... Well, even if you're religious, maybe you can meditate, or reflect on your day's events, to calm your mind, if that fails.

When you think something, whetjer you know it or not, you give it an ok, or a veto.
if you approve it, so to speak, it enters into your heart, or belief system.
If you dissaprove, it goes usually, it may come back a time or two, but usually it goes.
If you give no real opinion, it will keep coming back around, and repeatedly not approving or dissaproving, will be considered an approval.

Think of things that are more positive, and say a prayer for the Lord's protection to be upon you. Do not dwell on the thoughts, this only feeds the negativity that is attacking you.

Yes, I've been there. Praying does work. Hard felt devotional praying. Beg and plead with God to help you. Open your emotional ears to him. Prayer is telepathy. If you listen you will hear.

Don't worry about them. It is not wrong to think, no matter what it is you're thinking about.

How you act on what you think is what really matters. You can't stop thinking, so you shouldn't feel guilty for doing so. Sometimes your brain thinks through some dark situations because of the novelty of them. Other times, we hear about something disturbing and our brain works out what it might have been like in that situation or what we would do in a similar situation.

Prayer really doesn't do much. God is a superstition. The old lists of thought police rules only serve to make people feel guilty for even thinking of "bad" things so they are more likely to fill the pews and empty their pockets.

You have a brain. You can think through situations and figure out for yourself whether or not to act on what you think.
