what do you think of this:

""Suppose we've chosen the wrong god? Every time we go to church, we're just making him madder and madder."
— Homer J. Simpson

Yes. This is one of what have become known as "Pascal's Flaws"

According to the Tao of Homer, we are not supposed to rock the boat or "even get in it." As much as I love the Simpsons, Pascal's Wager is just that - for those who simply place bets on the most likely winner. Hopefully, people have made more informed decisions about their faith based on a "sure thing."

If God is good, then I think that He will forgive honest mistakes. If we honestly seek God and not for our own selfish gain, then I think we're okay. The problem is that we're not honest. We use silly arguments spoken by Homer Simpson to reject God.

Yes, that is clearly one of the things wrong with Pascal's wager. Face it: you have to make up your mind. "Hedging your bets" won't cut it with any entity smart enough to be called "God."

Another thing wrong with Pascal's Wager: you can't "believe" as an act of will. If you really do believe, it is because you are convinced. Normally, that takes sufficient evidence. To do this thing called "faith" is to be intellectually dishonest with yourself.

God goes to homer's Church?

It does have a point, but I would question why an omnipotent, omniscient being would care about getting praise from puny little mortals like us. A lack of self-belief?

PW is seriously flawed anyway. I think the writers of the simpsons were using a literary tool, wait its coming to me, oh yes, humor, that is what its called.

God cannot change anything about the world that we understand. for instance- a god used to throw lightning bolts from the sky- but now we understand what causes that.

He used to cause pestilence and disease, but now we discovered bacteria and virus.

He used to create hurricanes- but now our satellites track them long before they arrive on shore (so he doesn't interfere)

What's left for God to mess with that we care that he gets mad?

He is absolutely correct and that is precisely what is wrong with Pascal's wager (or at least one thing).

Yep, Matt Groening puts in many political and philosophical innuendos in the Simpsons, he even disses Fox all the time!
