I got a tattoo 27 years ago on my left butt cheek that says "Property of Ted". This was my husband at that time and we kind of hung out with the biker crowd and I thought it was like the ultimate proof of my love for him, so I had it done.

Now of course I'm no longer with him, and am about to become involved in a relationship that looks like it's going to become permanent. I really haven't paid too much attention to the tattoo all this time, didn't really care about it too much, but now I don't want it anymore at all.

It's about 3 inches long and an inch high. Would it be better to try to cover it up with something else, another tattoo, or would having it removed actually REMOVE it, and leave no trace that it was ever there? It's done in all black ink text, no colors ever there, or designs, just the words.

It's gonna be cheaper to cover it up. Laser removal of tattoos is very expensive and very timely. And sometimes, it doesn't work. It isn't big so a good tattoo artist should be able to cover it. Just have a few ideas of what you would want to cover it. Your choices may be limited. Good luck.

I always tell my boys to never get a tattoo that might come back and bite ya or you'll be sorry for later. I am sorry you have this problem. Both can be expensive. My tattooist wont touch another persons artwork and some others may not either but you could give it a try cause removing it is going to cost you a lot more. I wish you luck.

I would just get it covered up. When you get tattoo's removed they do not always go away. There is sometimes a scar so it might just be a scar that says "Property of Ted" and sometimes they can't get all the ink out.

do you WANT another tattoo? if i had a tattoo on my butt i would just get it removed. as small as it is it would probably only take about 5 treatments and since it is in black it would probably completely disappear with no indication that it was ever there. i vote for removal.
good luck!!

If you can, its surely better to remove it.

But see, if it becomes tedious to get it off , don't take risk for your cheek;

this may have a negative impact ;
but it will, for sure, show ur dedication towards "Ted", & that you dedicate yourself to relationships u adore.

I would get it covered if I were you.

It will be alot less expensive, and a lot less painful.

Good luck :)

it could cost up to 2000 dollars. its done in up to 12 sessions, and it doesnt usually scar, but there is no guarantee. maybe you should ask your current partner and tell him about it and see what he thinks
