No. I find scapulars hypocritical and superstitious. They are a diminution of the hairshirt, a very uncomfortable garment conceived in the notion that pointless human suffering made God feel sorry for you. So two tiny rectangles of burlap do the same thing? Sure, you have to make sure it doesn't get wet in the shower, but is this really sharing in the "suffering" of Christ?
This is just one of a host of sacramentals that is designed to substitute for actual prayer. What is a common objective of the various brands of scapular? A plenary indulgence at the time of death? This moves them into the realm of talismans designed to keep evil spirits away. That's not Catholicism to me.
There is no end to the devotions and devices that people will invent to get some sort of spiritual edge. I prefer the stupid old method of trying to make life better for other people, over the tired piety schemes of people who would rather ignore the needs of the dirty, nasty, real world.

I have a scapular, but I haven't gotten it blessed yet, so I don't wear it. I'm still working on if I believe in that optional revelation yet.
I do wear a medal. I have on of my patron, St. Thomas Aquinas, and I'm currently wearing one of the Holy Family.

humorous how Fundamentalists think of Jesus might violate the ten Commandments and not Honor his mom. they seem to forget he replaced into one hundred% guy and one hundred% God. You look utilising the NIV translation that's a foul translation. maximum sturdy translations say "Womb" no longer "mom". So if so Jesus is pointing out that blessed are people who're no longer fascinated in the actual yet non secular. Blessed Virgin Mary different than for the Blessed mom of God being the only man or woman who replaced into at Christ's start, dying, Resurrection and on the creation of the Catholic Church at Pentecost she is to be respected biblically. Luke a million:40 8 For he has regarded upon his handmaid's lowliness; behold, from now on will each age call me blessed. So attempt to coach the honour that the bible instructions. As to asking Mary and the Saints to prefer for us: Rev 8:4 And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, went up before God out of the angel's hand. Peace be with you.

Before I became an atheist, I kept both on me at all times, and had numerous sacramentals in my room (I had a table that was blessed by a priest on which I kept holy water, blessed incense, etc). I also did the Devotion to the Sacred Heart daily.
I kept myself surrounded by sacramentals at all times.
