We are going to be flying first class on an upcoming trip, and I was wondering if it is standard to tip the flight attendant?

If so, how much should I tip?

No tips but if you received great service send a thank you note through the airline to the attendent. It could help them get a promotion or raise.

You don't tip flight attendants but if you will be on a long flight and you know you will be needing the extra attention especially if you are sickly, or needing help to the 'ladies' etc, there is nothing wrong with offering a non-financial token of appreciation. Otherwise, a simple thank you with a smile will do it. And please, don't do like the other first class passengers and leave your space like a sty! I don't know what is wrong with them.

AND if you ever get the chance, try first class on Singapore Airlines!!

Not necessary. Even people I know who tip anyone within shouting range while traveling don't feel like tipping there.

It is not customary to tip flight attendants.

Never.

There overpaid, and your paying over the odds for the trip

Why compound the felony.
