Let's say you find a wife or you win the lottery or beat cancer. Any of those.

Now, you have found "faith" and believe in God, or maybe you already did.

My question is, when you thank God for those things or suggest he gave them to you, are you not indirectly implying God is being favourable? I mean, lots of people die from cancer, lots of people live in Poverty, and lot's of people do not find a nice girl (Probably -1% :) )

Isn't it wrong for a God to give wealth all to one person via a lottery? Isn't this playing "favourites?" Why do you thank God, what did he do? Didn't YOU do it?

Let me ask you a question: If you had wealth and property, would you will it to people who loved you and deeply appreciated you and all you did for them or to people who would not even acknowledge you even in your generosity?

Good point, I think of stuff like that whenever I think of statistics:

If something good has a 1% chance of happening, why is it that the 99% of the time when it doesn't it gets ignored, but when the 1% does occur, it's a miracle? Just because it is good and has a low probability of happening it's a miracle, even though statistically it would happen that way anyway.

One person surviving cancer is not a miracle, especially when you ignore the 50 other people who didn't make it. Everyone on the planet who has cancer is cured all in one day without a new cure or anything that medicine can explain? THAT would be a miracle.

God gives you everything. and he does everything for a reason. God has no favorites out of us humans. Life isn't fair not everyone wins the lottery or survives cancer. all I know is that "to whom much is given, much is expected", God has a reason for all that he does, and that you need to just trust God and his plan for you because if your best friend survives cancer, it doesn't mean that you will.

one last comment: you shouldn't just believe in God in the easy times(praise him after winning the lottery) you need to stick to him in the hard times too so he can pull you through and bless your life along the way.

No man on earth and no Woman on earth is free from the plague of death that surrounds us every day and every breath.

Prayer is good and sometimes prayer makes things go wrong in order for things to get right.

What I am saying is that I prayed for helping me get a truck because my back is bad and getting into a Lexus was hurting me.

I put my Lexus up for sale and then a guy looks at it and takes it for a test drive and doesn't come back.

Police find my car chase the suspects down, one gets away and the other is arrested and my lexus is smashed all up with only liability I have lost again....right?

Actually no I didn't lose because the Veterans Affairs for the first time is now willing to help me purchase my vehicle, but would not do it before.

Was it my letters?
Was it my disability?
Was it my prayer??????????

If you look at the events of situation it can only lead that prayer brought me into my truck, but the lord had to find a way to trash the Lexus in order to get the VA to bite for a new truck.

The mystery of prayer can be hell at first when things go wrong, but for the right reasons in the end.
God Bless

If you were an ant, would you need to understand why a person killed your entire hill?

Of course not. You have neither the faculties, the strength, or the big picture.

Neither should we question God. He sees what's going on like we do not. He has a plan and He's making it happen. Maybe one day we'll understand it, but for now, if we believe, we have to trust that He is true and faithful and He has our best interests in mind.

It's all in that one little phrase: "if we believe."

No. God does what is best for a person, and only he knows what is best. He wouldn't give you lottery money if it is not in his plan for you. When you thank God, you are not just thanking him for that one thing, but also thanking him for everything he has given you. God is the only one that knows the way for you.

I say thank you for waking up every morning.. :) But winning the lottery? That seems more of a curse than a blessing!

The bad things that happen to us comes from the devil. The good things come from God, God loves us and if we love Him than he will protect us from the devil. Thank you. This is a good answer and now I know God will bless me and he will bless you if you don't blame him for all the evils of the earth.

One is so happy to have such good fortune that all you want to do is to thank some-one. Thanking God is one way of acknowledging that you felt undeserving of such a gift when there are so many in this world who could have been more worthy of having an unexpected windfall

I thank God for life, health, happiness, and everything he gives me. We must Thank God often through prayers, being faithful, going to church and paying respects and homage.

Remember a wife, $$$, winnings, and all other things HE gives is just on loan, and we must make good use of it here on earth. We cannot take it with us. (Perhaps your faith is being tested?)

"You don't always get what you want, but you always get what you need." My grandmother told me that all the time. She was talking about God. Personally, as an Atheist, I say my choices are what led to a certain outcome.
