now some of you need to simmer down. I wasn't attacking, I was just wondering.
Isn't that how we learn from each other?

I am a Catholic.
Usually the ad they posted in the paper is usually to their favorite patron Saint Like Saints Jude, Joseph, Mary whomever they wish to post and pray and they are thanking them for their prayers that were answered.
It also is posted to promote faith and tell others by praying to the saints who in turn give your prayer to God who is the only ONE who answers the prayer.
Now, one must pay if it's a religious organization. Think about it they have offices, electrical bills, paper stationery that costs a bundle, workers, nothing really isn't free. So any donation is fine, and God bless.

There is a tradition among some (but not all) Catholics of publicly thanking saints, especially St. Jude, for prayers answered. One common way of doing that is to take out an ad in a newspaper.

not all Catholics do that but, if I made a promise to God about doing something like that then I suppose I would do it. Most Catholics don't do that---it is usually connected to devotions to St. Jude and answered prayers for a lost cause.

If god gave blessings for free there would be no churches, or ministers.

Here`s something else to ponder, why do non-Catholics suppose we have to account for our faith and practices?

LOL! I saw someone thanking "saint joseph" in the Pennysaver!
Insanity. But unsaved, hell-bound idol worshippers do those sorts of things.
