Every Christian religion believes in the Bible and they all use it to "prove" their religion is true. I take this to be proof that the Bible is not a reliable measure of truth. Surely not all Christian religions can be 100% true.
Other than your knowledge of the Bible, why do you believe your religion is true?
Please don't answer if you believe that truth is subjective.
For example: If you believe it doesn't matter what religion
you are, all religions are equally true, or truth is in the eye of
the beholder.

Some have mistakenly assumed that I am looking for proof. I'm not. I'm looking for a Christian whose faith is deeper than just ink on pages. I'm looking for someone who believes that truth is searchable and findable and knowable.

"Our age is retrospective. It builds the sepulchers of the fathers. It writes biographies, histories, and criticism. The foregoing generations beheld God and nature face to face; we, through their eyes. Why should not we also enjoy an original relation to the universe? Why should not we have a poetry and philosophy of insight and not of tradition, and a religion by revelation to us, and not the history of theirs? Embosomed for a season in nature, whose floods of life stream around and through us, and invite us by the powers they supply, to action proportioned to nature, why should we grope among the dry bones of the past, or put the living generation into masquerade out of its faded wardrobe? The sun shines today also."

i don't know. and i agree that trusting the bible is not enough. even in the bible, sorry to use it as a reference, it says that the ppl search for scriptures to find life, but they point to Jesus, and they refuse to go to Him to find life. i think we need to go directly to Him to find life and truth, and by meditating and prayer we can find what is true. u are absolutley right that all of them can't be true. they all use the bible, but they use their own brains to try and understand it, or rely on people to tell them what it means.

No religion, based upon the Bible, Koran, or any other book, can be proved true. If any religion could be proved to be the one true religion, then all religious people would adhere to that particular religion, so as not to be left behind with the non-believers. The truth of a religion is in the mind of the religious person, and it is called "faith", which cannot be used to convince others. That is why all religions say they "believe" in their "God". I like to think that there is a supreme being, and through language and cultural differences, the being has
adopted numerous names. As long as people believe in him, I don't think he minds.

Jesus Christ is true and so is His Word. The Word of God is complete truth- so how can we not refer to the bible. How did you find out that 1 + 1=2? By just figuring out, or looking at a math book?

I am a Christian. I do believe my religion to be true - not because of church - not because of the bible - but because I've had my beliefs from childhood (my parents were catholic by the way). Due to the fact that I am not judgemental, I do not believe other religions are untrue - I only believe in what I know - which is Christianity.

Had you asked 'is your church the only true church of God?' Is your church the only one that teaches the true teachings of the Bible?' All of them would have said 'yes,it's my church only!'
I have no doubt they clearly understand your question of why they feel their church is the true one. They have to pretend to be confused and skirt around the question because for the simple reason they don't know why their actual church is the only true church of God. They cannot answer you. You have made them look ignorant and foolish.

What do you mean true?
Doesn't the phrase "your church is true" mean that it conforms to what God has told us, and isn't what God told us in the Bible?
So how can anyone know if their church is true or not true unless they are comparing their church's beliefs and practices to what God tells us in the Bible?
What standard are you expecting to use if not the word of God?
Your question is neither logical nor sensible.

That's like saying, without referring to a skin, the fruit, seeds, flavor or fragrance, describe an apple.
I cannot say why I believe in God, or the truth of God, without referring to His word, and the experience He has given me, proving His word (the bible) true.

No one can be ABSOLUTELY sure that their's is the one true religion, that's why it is called faith. In a secular sense, people that believe strictly in the THEORY of evolution are basing that on some evidence but mostly on scientific conjecture (a.k.a. faith). That is why it's the THEORY, not the LAW of evolution.

How would someone have made it up? Religions, like Christianity, have come from all over the world. And all are so similar. God created us.
