It all depends on the circumstances, and how hard your attorney wants to get you off. A bench trial with a plea agreement, could take less than 15 minutes. A bench trial where the attorney is challenging the arrest, several hours. A jury trial, many hours to all day. This is in regards to a case where there aren't any injuries, or a death.

Well, the time on the hearing is usually for the first hearing of the morning (so 8 or 9 am) and then the actual time depends on where in the lineup you are. The actual hearing is pretty short. If you plead guilty and this is the first one, it'll be less than 5 minutes, because you'll just say "Not guilty" and a trial time will be set. If you plead guilty, there will be a little more time, because the judge will ask you for a statement and sentence you. Your sentence, if it's jail, will be executed immediately, so be prepared.

Also if they are in custody.
Plan for a day as you never know the court schedule.
Most take either a morning or full afternoon. Waiting.
The Judge time is quick. You plea and go from there.
Eat well before, go early. No reading, etc. Wait.
Best of luck. Been there. Me & for friends. If in custody
it takes longer sometimes to get to them.

You mean with a jury and everything? I served on a jury during a DUI case and it started around 8AM and by 4PM we delivered our verdict.
But obviously this time would vary GREATLY depending on how many witnesses are called, the length of the cross-examinations, the type of evidence presented, etc.

Depends if the person pleads guilty or not. Plead guilty, about 30 minutes.
