Just what it says, give Him all of your worries and problems. He will take care of them for you. You can't change anything by worrying and being fearful. Talk to God about them. This is why we were given direct acces to Him at the moment of Jesus' death..

In context, The community is to be subject to the presbyters and to show humility toward one another and trust in God's love and care (1 Peter 5:5-7).

With sobriety, alertness, and steadfast faith they must resist the evil one; their sufferings are shared with Christians everywhere (1 Peter 5:8-9). They will be strengthened and called to eternal glory (1 Peter 5:10-11).

It is quite possible that the inspired Peter had Psalm 55 in view when he wrote 5:7:

"Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved." - Psalm 55:22.

Quite often for many, the earth can be an overwelming place with worries about growing older, poverty, health, brokenheartedness, and many many other social ills. There is alot of anxiety out there, but Jesus came to give the weary and heavy laden rest. Because as humans we basically require food, shelter and clothing, anxiety can affect one if they are in fear of being without these life sustaining goods. But the LORD is love and pefect love casts out all these fears.

Jesus said:

"Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?" - Matthew 6:25.

it style of feels to be per an early Tribulation Epistle, which Peter is (a million puppy a million). he's addressing this to the "strangers" and that would flow with those Rev 7 one hundred forty four,000. right here Peter is exhorting them via the witness of Christ on an identical time as He replaced into interior the flesh (human flesh - no longer the physique he's in now - you're version has it incorrect) that as He suffered and went via it, then you certainly may additionally flow via this time of Tribulation. in case you remember that the Books beginning with Hebrews is written for people who're dealing with the Tribulation and the start pangs of the Millennium then it is going to become much less mysterious.

Amen!
1 Peter 5:7
" Casting all your anxiety on Him because it matters to Him concerning you"

Was really appreciating this verse this past few weeks. So much going on in my own little home. Anxiety coming in to try to steal the Joy of our Salvation.. To spring up as thorns to choke out the Seed of Life that the Lord planted into us.
I love the word cast. Its such a once for all matter. Even the verb, the tense in the greek carries with it such a finality.

Oh Brother.. may we truly learn to trust this One who loves us eternally.
I was reminded during this whole process of a hymn... ' take it to the Lord in prayer"

We needlessly carry so much upon us that our Savior with His shoulders so strong has already carried for us.

May we learn day by day.. even as the anxious moments go by to remember He is on the Throne. He is God and ruling this universe by His Word.

Praise the Lord for this comforting verse to add to this wonderful one you shared with us found in Phillipians 4:5-7

" Let your forebearance be known to all men.. THE LORD IS NEAR!
In Nothing be anxious but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let your request be made know to God..
hallelujah!..
And the peace of God which surpasses every man's understanding will GUARD your Heart and thoughts in Christ Jesus"

Thank You Lord Jesus that You are so near and dear to us

First, if I may, I want to quote this text...1 Peter 5:7 - casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

I, personally, love this scripture because Paul here gives us a reminder of what our faith is all about - to be totally depended on our Savior, who is able to subdue all unto himself (Philippians 3:21). He also reveals to us the lifestyle we should live and portray to all - to be worry free in all things because for He cares for us. Paul here is reflecting the very meaning of the message that Christ gave us when He said "Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30) He says to "cast all of our care on Him, for He cares for you" signifying the incredible, inconceivable love that He has for us and the all-important relationship that He wants to have with us. So when we invite Him into out lives and into our hearts, we need not worry about anything. He even gave us a command not to worry - “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? (Matthew 6:25) So, again, I love this scripture because, in a glimpse, Paul shows us the true character of God who is our Father, our Brother, and our Friend who cares for us and loves us with an unconditional, unchangable, inconceivable love!! God bless!!

That is a scripture we need to say OUT LOUD on the days we are falling apart. Yes, wonderful words to hear from the Lord aren't they? And they are true! That is what makes this verse so much more ALIVE, because we know who love Him, that HE WILL take care of us- and that we need to always cast our cares on Him. He knows how much we can handle, and we know that He is ALWAYS ready to intervene. He loves to see us SEEK Him in all things! This verse reminds us to do just that!

To me this means we are to bring everything to God in prayer because He loves us and cares for us. We are not to carry the burden by ourselves because this is destructive.

Peter betrayed Jesus. Peter denied Jesus three times, and only wished to glorify his own name in the sight of men, not God the Father.
