I love pickles myself but I would get sick if I ate 5 large pickles every day. All of the extra sodium cannot be good for you. Sodium adds a lot of extra water weight, there aren't many calories in pickles but after about 4 pickles you've exceeded your daily sodium intake. I'd take it down to one or two a day.

You sound like me. I have to have at least 1 pickle a day. Eating a lot of pickles cant hurt you. Pickles have sodium in them but the vinegar thats in them soaks up alot of the salt. Its a good food to eat when you want to fill full because its a zero calorie food. Then its considered a green veggie and green veggies are also good for overall health. The only thing you have to worry about is drinking enough fluid because the sodium and vinegar from the pickles will make you dehydrated.

Yes pickles have a lot of sodium, but so do french fries and most foods most Americans eat on a regular basis. Drink plenty of water and your body should be able to get rid of the excess sodium, the only real reason you wouldn't be able to do this is if you already have high blood pressure, then you might want to try to find low sodium pickles.

Pickles are a great snack because they are "negative" calories!! But sodium can be very bad for you in high amounts. Here is a great article from MayoClinic:

If you go to a Whole Foods, Trader Joes or other healthy type market place, they sometimes carry types of organic low sodium pickles! They taste great too...not nasty:)

I eat pickles too, but try to at least eat the little ones. Sodium does affect your diet so take it easy.

Sodium is only unhealthy if you have high blood pressure. I have low blood pressure, so it's not an issue for me at all.
