but, if you are in torment, then you stay that way for eternity. And that is your "heaven" and "hell". Does anyone else feel that way?

And, PLEASE, no trying to presuade me otherwise, it isnt that type of question. I RESPECT your beliefs, please RESPECT mine.

Interesting question. The logic of it appeals to me.

I believe something similar. I think that you keep the spiritual maturity (for lack of a better term) that you die with, and carry it with you into the afterlife.

Put another way, if you are on a rather undeveloped spiritual level, such as one that excludes people instead of loving them, then that is exactly the underdeveloped spirituality you enter heaven with.

The people with broader, more loving spiritualities will naturally be closer to God. People who have trouble loving their neighbors or "enemies" here on Earth, will be farther from God.

That's not to say spiritual and mental and maybe even physical challenges will be absent. Maybe we'll continue to grow toward spiritual maturity while we're there.

But I think our own inability to love the way Jesus told us to will be our personal hells in the afterlife.

Can't. I respect your right to have them, but beliefs are not automatically deserving of respect. For example, believing there is a soul when scientific research has demonstrated it is highly unlikely is not worthy of being respected, nor is belief in a heaven or hell.

BTW, by your standard, atheists will all go to heaven, and believers, convinced they are all unworthy sinners and scared to death they will be punished, will all be in hell.

My belief is somewhat similar to your's, though it has a bit less to do with contentment and a bit more to do with completion, which one could argue are entirely similar.

I believe that if one did everything that they needed to do, and a good deal of what they wanted to do, that they will have "peace for eternity."

If you die in your sins you will find out that what you now believe is a delusion. I wouldn't try to persuade you otherwise because your mind is already made up - at least for now. I am sure you are intelligent enough to concede that anyone could be wrong about anything. Therefore it is possible that you might see that you are wrong in the future.
I will leave it at that.

As far as the person who thinks Christian "fundies" are exclusionist - he is in serious error, and not only that, but his other posts show he is stuck in a rut on this issue. The name fundies is an offense to those who truly love the Lord because it is not applicable to them.

God makes it clear that there are only two classes of people on earth. Children of Light and Children of Darkness, Sons of God and Sons of the devil. Followers of Christ and followers of Baal (Satan). Spiritually dead and Spiritually alive. Eternally saved and Eternally damned.

You would have to blame God for being exclusionist, but you can't because He made it possible for all of us to be saved if we would repent of our evil hearts and lives and receive His Son as Saviour. That means we all stand on equal ground as far as God is concerned - sinners in need of forgiveness.

Because God made a way of escape people go to Hell by their own choice. They reject God's Holiness and their own sinfulness, refuse to deal with it in this life and die ignorant and condemned to torment.

Nobody has to believe any of this if they wish to find out about it after they are dead and standing face-to-face with God. I respect your right to write your own sentences. I pray
with all my heart you don't die thinking as you do now.

this is what I believe- if we decided if our soul is content, of course we would all be in heaven--because frankly who wants to go to hell- we cannot judge our own soul. we are sinners, and the only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ, not what we think of our life and our soul,

No matter what you do here on earth if you believe in God and have repented then you will go to heaven(John 3:16) even if you have lived a good life if you dont believe in God and repent then you are going to hell.
thats what i think.

Insecure much?

Maybe it's because, deep down. you know better than to believe the garbage you're saying.

People who say "let's agree to disagree" like you basically are, usually mean "I'm right so just shut up and agree with me."

Since you asked if anyone feels this way I will simply respond "no". If you want to know why I feel this way you may not like the answer.

I guess, I'm content with the fact that I'm a christian and therefore know i'm going to heaven but if i wasn't a christian i wouldnt be content and would be going to hell.
