Jehovah's Witnesses are just that, a witness to Jehovah God. We live our lives according to the Bible and God's Standards. We do as Jesus Christ told his followers to do and that is to go and preach to the entire inhabited earth as a witness and make disciples of people from all nations.
We do not celebrate birthdays as Jesus never did, not in the Bible what day he was born on either so we do not do X-mas. We do celebrate the most important day of the year and that is the Memorial of his death. Jesus commanded his disciples to remember his death as that was the reason he came to earth for, to die for our sins.
The reason we go door to door is that is the way Jesus did it. He didn't build a church and say here I am, come to me. He went where the people were, their homes. There are many scriptures that talk about him being in someones home and telling of God's Kingdom. We do the same, we follow in his footsteps very closely.
If you'd like to learn more you can call the Kingdom Hall in your town and you can have a free tour of the Hall. Everything we do is free. We all have learned free so we teach for free. Never is anyone asked to give $. If anyone wants to give a donation, that's up to each person, we never ask.

I am a Jehovah's Witness. We do not celebrate holidays or birthdays. We do celebrate the memorial of Jesus Death once a year, that is a great time, to honor Jesus because he died for us and so we could finally have forgiveness for sins.
We share the Good News of Jehovah's Righteous Kingdom. Like Jesus commanded us to do at Matthew 24:14. We are normal people just like you and everyone else, we like to laugh and have fun. We have qualities such as love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness..
We are very righteous and morally upright people. Just like Jehovah and Jesus. We apply what the Bible says and because of it our lives have meaning and we are happy because Jehovah says in the Bible he will soon do away with wickedness and replace it with his new world where only righteousness will be abound. We hope that one day all will come to know Jehovah!

Jehovah's Witnesses are members of an international religious organization of the same name, whose adherents believe it to be a restored form of first-century Christianity.[1][2] Jehovah's Witnesses are governed by their understanding of Scriptural laws and principles from the Bible. Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc. is a legal organization in use by Jehovah’s Witnesses for their ministry work.
The religion was developed in response “to what they saw as compromise and corruption in mainstream Christianity.”[3] They dispute doctrines such as the Trinity, hellfire, immortality of the soul, and clergy-laity divisions as illegitimate additions to the original Christian teachings.[4] The name "Jehovah’s Witnesses" is based on Isaiah 43:10, and was adopted in 1931.[5] The Watchtower Society has been publishing religious materials since the late 19th century, its most widely known publications being the magazines The Watchtower and Awake![6][7]
Jehovah’s Witnesses count as adherents the number attending their meetings.[8] Of these adherents, they count as members those who report time preaching each month.[9] As of August 2006 this membership is about 6.7 million.[10]
The central theme of their preaching is the sanctification of God's name and the vindication of His sovereignty by means of His Kingdom, with Jesus Christ as its Ruler. The Witnesses believe that the reign of Jesus began with the Second Coming or presence of Christ. The Date in which the turn of the End of the Gentile times was announced in 1874, to happen and occur a change sometime in the year 1914, the exact date was unknown. Although in turn the Heavens was cleansed of Satan and all the Demons ( the fallen Angels ) and thrown to the Earth as prophesied in Revelation 12:12,13. The Start of the New Heavens as Jesus Christ as the Newly appointed King by his Heavenly Father, God Almighty Jehovah ( YHWH ).[11]

The correct spelling is Jehovah's Witnesses. I am one.
The only thing we celebrate, as a religion, is the memorial of Christ's sacrifice for mankind.
We strive to follow the Bible and the teachings of God's son Jesus.
We are a Christian religion.

The best thing to do is talk to one yourself and ask them. Swing by your local Kingdom Hall, call and ask for someone to come by, or visit www.watchtower.org.
They believe in many things not considered mainstream, but they can always back up their answers with proof from the Bible. And they'll use your version if you want them to; it's not like theirs is completely different.
And contrary to popular belief, they do not want your money or to beg for your conversion. They are following the commandment that Jesus gave to walk among the nations and make disciples out of them. To do this, they go door to door and spread the message of God's love and His coming Kingdom, ruled over by Jesus Christ. If you want to study with them, they will arrange it, if not, they leave!
They will not celebate secular holidays because they have roots in paganism, but they celebrate the Resurrection of Christ on the date of Jewish passover. Of note, they believe that you should show appreciation for the people in your life all year long, just not at certain holidays. So they are not opposed to gift giving, just the history and meaning behind our popular holidays.
And no, they are not a cult.

Jehovah's Witnesses are relatively unique among self-described Christians in that they understand the Scriptures to teach that God's Kingdom by Christ Jesus is a real government which will soon replace all earthly governments.
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite
That Kingdom will rule over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.
Until that resurrection, there is no suffering in "hell", or the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire
While a limitted number of humans will be resurrected to heaven to share in ruling over mankind, the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]
Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'
(Matthew 5:5) 'the mild will inherit the earth'
(Revelation 21:3) The tent of God is with mankind
