Our church has a Hallelujah Festival in place of Halloween, and to keeps the kids involved in Christian activities on that day. The kids dress up as a Biblical symbol or person. I would like to have my daughter be "the fruit of the vine". I thought I could make her body into a strawberry, with the hat being the leaf on the strawberry with the vine coming from it.
What do I need, you wonder? How to make the strawberry part.
Your ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it is mostly grapes, but I was totally stuck on that idea, and since the wording is fruit, I thought something more "singular" would be easier.
As for Christians having no ideas....WRONG.....I am a crafter and artist, and have plenty of ideas...thank you...LOL

What an cute idea :) I found the below when I Googled and hope it will give you some ideas. You might go to a fabric store and look at their books and ask some of the women who work there for ideas, too.
One thing that came to mind ~ remember the crinoline material? Wonder how that would work if you were to sew that into the strawberry area, more at the top and taper down with less at the bottom, with material on both sides of the crinoline material so it won't scratch her body but will puff the material out (like it did the skirts years ago) (?).

Dye a Sheet red and tie it below the hip, stuff it full of newspaper. Take Magic Markers and draw the black pock marks on the sheet. voila! and by the way great idea. If every body there was a grape it wouldn't be any fun.

Red outfit maybe tights and a leotard with a little skirt or a jumper that can be stuffed into more of a Strawberry shape good luck!

Possibly Egg Cartons turned upside down (bottom part out from the person wearing it) and Glued together.

I understood the vine to be of grapes, as the Israelites didn't make wine out of strawberries. hmmm...anyway, maybe you could make a cage out of coathangers, straps to suspend it, and paper mache, or felt cloth glue gunned onto the frame?
