There is this Taco Mac stuff my friend made one, you make your macaroni a few minutes shy of being done, cook the ground beef like you would for tacos, grease a baking dish layer the pasta then burger add tomato(or salsa) refried beans(whatever else you like) and cover with a mexican style shredded cheese. Enough to coat or smother it, i love cheese. So i'd say 1.5 -2 cups over the top.
Bake till cheese is well melted...350*

Cook the ground beef in a saute pan and season it while it's cooking (salt and pepper at least, I'd add some garlic powder too). You might also want to cook some chopped onion with the beef.

Drain the cooked beef, then add it to your casserole by sprinkling it in layers as you assemble the casserole. Avoid having lots of beef sitting at the top of the casserole where it will dry out.

If I were doing that on a whim, I would brown the meat in a pan, add it in when I mix the already cooked pasta with the cheese sauce, and bake it in the oven at 350 for approximately 30minutes in a casserole pan uncovered (or until the top gets a little brown). I sprinkle parmesan cheese on top.

cook the beef separate or you will have a lot of fat in the mac and cheese, that is not good. Cook your beef, drain and then toss with the mac and cheese. When's dinner?
