The only company to make Aspirin is Bayer. Aspirin is the brand name for ASA or acetylsalicylic acid. ASA is made by all kinds of pharmaceutical companies. Because Aspirin has been around for so long (decades), everyone uses the term Aspirin interchangeably with ASA and sometimes other forms of painkillers.

Because aspirin does FORM A SALT IN THE BODY. Just not in water, of which there is none (pure) in the body. It's all a mix of plasma and electrolytes, and therefore all compounds mix with the electrolytes and create natural salts.

The patents on acetylsalicylic acid and its derivatives expired yonks ago so anybody can make it!!

There are hundreds of companies who do this.
