My Mom had WIndows XP Pro installed, and she bought the Windows XP Pro SP2 Upgrade CD thinking that's how you upgrade to SP2. It gets stuck at 34 minutes because of the system configuration and you can't skip past it.
All the original files are still there, I just need to know how to skip past the Windows Install. I can still get to the command prompt.
Can I delete the files? Or can I skip it somehow?

It hangs here forever. Hours on end. I looked at the pnplog.txt file and it shows that there's a hardware conflict, but I don't have a replacement for it so I can't just remove it.

How do I go about deleting the installation?

While that's not the preferred method, there's no reason it shouldn't work.

It can be a very slow task; have some patience. If it's still hung at the same location after 90-120 minutes, then you have a problem. But backing out of an aborted installation isn't easy.
