>why would you rather believe you evolved from monkeys and not that you were delicately created by a loving God
You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. It's not a matter of what I would rather believe. There is only one thing, ONE THING, that I want to believe...and that's simply the truth. Whatever is true, that's what I want to believe. Evolution has more evidence supporting it than creationism does, so for the time being I believe that we did evolve from something like monkeys. It doesn't matter whether you consider this humiliating, or depressing, or whatever. In the end, the best way we can make this world a better place is to accept the truth, because the universe around us does not forgive lies.
>and if you believe you evolved from monkeys why is there no proof of that
Really? So then what do you call the fact that we have found thousands of fossils of various creatures extending back for millions of years and forming numerous branches and dead ends, with one branch trailing up to us?
>if the evolution process ever take place why is there no half human half monkey fossils or remains?
It's not as simple as having a half human half monkey fossil. The whole idea of 'transitional fossils' as being distinct from other kinds of fossils is patently ridiculous. Additionally, it is just plain wrong to claim that humans evolved from monkeys. We did NOT evolve from monkeys, we evolved from primates that existed millions of years ago and which were the ancestors of both modern humans and modern monkeys (this is also why the 'why are there still monkeys' argument doesn't work). And of course there HAVE been fossils discovered of creatures which are not yet human but which are at the same time more advanced than the monkey-like organisms that existed before them. No fossil shows evolution in itself, but the fossil record as a whole DOES show evolution quite clearly, including the recent evolution of humans. Anyone who tells you otherwise doesn't know what they're talking about.

Ahhh I needed that.
We are not from monkey's, though I think you common ancestor was the Jackass.
We share a common ancestor with the monkeys and other great apes. We are in fact Primates.
How anyone can question this I do not know. I you have ever been in a room full of small human primates between the ages of 2 and 8 and you have been to the zoo I fail to see how anyone can deny the common ancestry.
Part of Science is observation of the world around you.
You miracle fabricators have trouble comprehending a series of events that take thousands to millions of years. I would have to infer this to be because you and your ilk always seek the magic overnight link - as if evolution happened in a 24 hour period and would leave us some nicely arranged fossils buried somewhere in a box like a hidden treasure.
I think you people get stoned on the fumes from the ink your bibles are printed with.

Ok, before you knock evolution.. get your facts straight. Nobody ever said we evolved from monkeys. Instead it was a common ancestor with monkeys. Evolution and survival of the fittest makes sense. If you take 5 white rabbits and 5 brown rabbits and throw them in Alaska, the brown rabbits are easily seen and will get eaten while the white rabbits will blend in with the snow and survive to breed. It makes perfect logical sense. Now if you want to be spiritual and say that god created everyone that's fine. But instead ask why can't both evolution and creationism coexist. Why couldn't god have used evolution as the means to create humans?

Want proof of evolution? Go around your town and look at all the different breads of dogs. All developed by man from the wolves. If man can do that surely God can evolve people and apes from a common ancestor. Our bodies , after all, are those of primates. Why do you think George W. looks like a monkey?

Actually there are remains so you have no argument. There is evidence of the evolutionary process as well. In fact there has recently been found "hobbit" like remains of a new species of human that had been isolated on an island. So it proves both. Give it up creation lovers, creationism is a myth, science is not. I'm not saying you can't believe in God, just cut it out with the whole 6000 year old planet stuff and that were created out of nothing. 1rst LAW, not theory, of thermodynamics-matter can not be created or destroyed..

It seems you share a common frame of reference to the lower mesopotamian wheat farmer of 6000 years ago for who the genesis story was crafted; while I, on the other hand, have a common frame of reference with the rest of the inhabitants of the 21st century.
I wish you creationists would clue into the fact that the genesis story is merely an allegory to highlight the essential relationship between God, Man and creation. The details are irrelevent, the moral is the Key!
By denying common sense and the data available in favor of a childish morality story, you are missing one of the greatest Christian experiences to be had: For in the brushstrokes of the painting, one can begin to look into the mind of the artist.
Cmepnu: Nice! Great way to take scripture out of context! Now finish the story, jackass.

I want to believe we humans share a common ancestor with apes as much as I want to believe water is wet and gravity exists. In other words, there isn't much to do with *wanting* anything, it's just the way it is, based on fact and empirical data. I would love the world to have giant gumdrops scattered throughout, but that doesn't make it so.
Oh, and there is proof of that. Take the time to learn about it and you might be able to understand it. (If not understand completely, then at least to such a degree as to understand why distinct hybrids do not appear.) On the other hand, I'm not sure why you would hold something so esoteric as proof in such high regard. You know, given that your version of events, even after thousands of years, has not one iota of proof in support of it.
Because the arguments are tired and they are presented by TX man, methinks this stinks of a joke.

A) We came from a common ancestor so get that part straight first and foremost
B) There is no creditable proof or plausible proof that we were created. Stating that the bible is proof is 1) a cop-out and 2) circular reasoning.
Prove to me that we were created without using the bible since the bible is not based on facts or any kind of supporting facts

Read about a fossil called "Lucy". - The way you word your question you make it sound like as if there is a logical choice here. There is not. There is a faith based choice based on no evidence and no logic and there is a scientific choice based upon the fossil record and logic. I have no problem with you choosing to take that leap of faith and believe God made you in his very own image. Good for you, enjoy your faith. Now, do me a favor and do like your God says and don't judge me for how I live, instead why don't you do something else your God says to do and go build some homes for the homeless or work in a soup kitchen. Show me some good works instead of silly questions.

I would rather believe that I evolved from monkeys because it makes more sense. Who said there are no half human and half monkey fossil remains? More evidence for evolution and no evidence for a God. Seems like the scales are tipping in favor of evolution, dont cha think?
