It is not even one of the Ten Commandments

It seems like just as many people are adulterers, which IS one of the Ten Commandments

yet I do not hear anything about Christians condemning people who cheat on their spouses

how come?

First of all, we live in cultures where the male is predominant so adultery is not really paid much attention because it's something men can do. Christians are concerned about everything, if you sing it's sin, if you eat, it0s sin, if you breathe it's seen but if you don't do the last two it's suicide so it's a sin too. They are poor imbeciles who do not use their brains and repeat everything they hear and read as parrots without questioning anything. that's why the world is as it is.
Well, I should no generalise, there are many rational, good, tolerant Christians who live in the XXI C and not in the times of the Inquisition. Problem is, there are too many fundies and as people are agitated on purpose by ruthless leaders, if that's how they can be called, they are afraid of everything and they hate and want to destroy everything they don't understand; not very different from cave people.

Homosexuality is an abomination unto the Lord and is not natural. If it was natural then homosexuals and lesbians would be able to reproduce. The fact that they can not is proof that these are not natural acts.
Adultery is also a horrible sin against God and is judged with equal harshness by God. In fact, the wages of all sin is death.
"Have you not read that in the beginning God created them male and female? Therefore what God has joined together, let no man put asunder". -Jesus Christ.
Immorality is a sin which rapidly permeates and pollutes our societies and brings on God's judgement. The rampant immorality in this world is a barometer for our spiritual well-being. This is inevitable when man accepts evolution instead of the Bible because with evolution there is no absolute right and wrong. Man makes the rules up as he goes along. When you continuously teach people that they are nothing more than animals evolved from pond scum, without hope and purpose and with no accountability to anyone, you should not be surprised when they act like animals.

Because straight people never (or very rarely) have to worry about committing the "sin" of homosexuality. So it's very easy to tell people they are going to Hell for their sins of homosexuality, but very difficult to admit they are going to Hell with them for adultery, lust, greed, envy, PRIDE, and other sins.

They forget to take their planks out before letting people know about their specs.

*alleninthehills, you are absolutely right! The media is in no way telling people they should dress provocatively, or to be powerful rich people, and sex and violence is NEVER in the media!

I just LOVE how many Christians are answering by telling you that Homosexuality is wrong, and leave it at that, COMPLETELY ignoring the entire point of the question, which is asking them why they ignore all other sins and focus only on homosexuality! They just CAN'T focus on any other sin!!!! Even in their answers to this question!!!!

Boxedjuice and Father K gave a good answers though. Thumbs up to them. Actually, there are quite a few good answers.

I fantastically lots believe what you pronounced, different than i decide to characteristic that i do no longer think ALL homosexuals locate themselves fascinated in an identical intercourse as a results of fact of strictly organic and organic anormalies. some, particular. yet no longer all. inspite of the on the spot clarification for such factors of interest. the main suitable reason is as you reported, our sinful, imperfect nature inherited from our first mum and dad, Adam and Eve. And Homosexuals, basically like countless different sinful and imperfect human beings, have a duty before God to stand up to their urges. Biology isn't any excuse. Biology won't be able to stress a gay to work together in intercourse -- it could basically initiate a prefer. each act of intercourse is born of a option to obey that prefer.

Because the Old Testament describes homosexuality as one of the reasons for the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.

What they fail to understand is Jesus' teachings that God is a god of Love.

Love is the literal, pure nature of God. Any act that radiates the love of the Creator brings you closer to and in harmony with God. Fearful or hateful acts remove you further from him This is a fundamental law of creation and has nothing to do with judgement or punishment - it's a natural law like gravity.

So two people sharing a loving relationship are closer to God than another who judges or condemns them for it. This is true regardless of who the people are or what labels society has placed on their relationship because they are not married, they are interracial, whatever.

And that's just the way it is. It's all about the love.

Even if we take that the premise of the author that 'So Many Christians' are concerned with homosexuality as being a statement of fact and not of opinion it then begs the question of the author as to his/her concern for the beliefs of a particular faith grouping. To answer the question itself is to lend at least a portion of credence to it; something which it does not deserve namely because the questioner is already aware of the answer unless he/she is completely devoid of human intelligence.

Two wrongs do not make a right. Consider this, most adulterers, are not out pushing their filth in to everything on TV, in to advertising, into the school systems, as well as trying to change the definition of a word older than time, marriage. That's why I am vocal regarding the issue.

Homosexuality has become a high profile issue because homosexuals have been pushing their lifestyle onto our society in general and into our schools and societal norms. As Christians there is a need to defend ourselves and society against these unwanted advances.

Before you judge me you also need to know I actively worked with a religious group (Muslim, Jews and Christians) trying to address the issues of AIDS in Miami-Dade County. We did not discriminate against homosexuals infected by HIV any more than a child born to a mother with HIV.

From the Christian point of view homosexuality is sinful behaviour and this is spelled out in a number of Biblical passages. An in-depth understanding of the 7th Commandment cited by you includes all forms of illicit sex.

I have known a number of practicing homosexuals and have treated them no different than others. One in particular that I remember was a physician who was dying of AIDS. It was that lifestyle that was killing that man and I wouldn't want anyone else to have to suffer what he was suffering.

your right! wrong is wrong & if you break one of the ten commandments it is wrong, but there are some things god dislikes more than others, & one of those is "homosexuality". he did'nt destroy sodomm & gomorrah for breaking any of the ten commands, he destroyed them because they commited a high crime in the eyes of god himself. there are things that upset god & there are things that bring on his wrath & that is homosexuality. that why he did'nt put that in the commands. he said it's an abomination(lev 18:22-23), there is an difference between an abomination & an commandment look it up yourself, one is deeply greater than the other, sorry.

there is a difference, people know it's wrong to cheat on their spouses. the problem is, is that you have people actually thinking its right to be gay. thats why its committing adultery isn't much of a debate....but then again you have science getting involved by saying there is a "gay gene" which makes everyone even more confused. i just call it all bull and say you choose you preferences. whether its music styles, fav. foods, sexuality and all that other crap.
