can you upgrade for a tenner or so when you travel on GNER?

I am travelling on GNER from London Kings cross - Dundee.
on First trains you can pay 10£ to upgrade. Can you do this on GNER? If so, do I just sit there and leave a £10 note in front of me when then conductor comes over??!

I assume you mean upgrade to 1st. The answer is only if you are travelling at a weekend and if the carriage is so marked. There is no automatic entitlement. I think it costs a little more than £10, but not much.
