There really is no proven way to "attract" Deer. There are literally dozens of gimmicks out on the market that are used to "entice" Deer...but nothing cut and dry.C'mere Deer, Buck Bran,Deer Innovation Products Deer Attractants are all available for sale. You need to check with the Game & Fish Commissions in your home state if you intend to try these. They are ILLEGAL to use in some States. Better safe than sorry.
If you want to be a successful Hunter, you need to scout the area you intend to hunt ahead of time and look for "sign" of their travels in the area.Well used trails that intersect with others. Deer droppings are also a sign of a frequently used trail. Tracks most anywhere you see them but more often than not you will see the most tracks and signs around natural water sources..Streams, creeks, river banks etc. Deer feed in cycles and will continue to do so unless their cycle is interrupted by human activity in their area's. You should use a good quality cover scent on your boot heels so you leave no human smells or scent where you walk. Later in the season, you can use Deer Rut scents That are made from a Doe's scent glands (esterus) secretions and during the Rut, these are HIGHLY effective in attracting Bucks.....With this exception of the Rut, there really is no way to assure you will attract Deer the balance of the season...

You can plant food plots with natural vegetation that is legal to hunt over. You can also hunt near fields that have grain on the ground just make sure it has not been baited.I have had some success using apple scented gel that I poured on a tree limb. The wind carries the scent and deer will follow it.I have had luck several times using this.

Just be in the right place at the right time.* Scout the area you will be hunting in for Deer Trails & Buck rubs, Get up in a tree and watch where they come out to feed, learn their behavior patterns & trails.* One of your best locations would be near an apple tree.*

Salt lick......But your game warden may not like this...LOL
I seem to have the best luck with antler rattling..And a key to successfully getting deer in close is making sure I have totally masked my presence by using doe urine and being very careful not to use any commercial detergents that can give you away both by smell and by sight since some can almost make you appear "fluorescent" in the eyes of deers (almost like night vision)
