Last year (my first year in the organization) I have been awarded an 8% salary increase. This year it is only 5 %. At the same time I receive more commissions now because I have more of my projects developed. What that decrease in the salary increase could mean? Could that indicate that I am not considered a important employee as I used to be considered last year. Shall I discuss this with my manager

How much more money did you make this year over last year? there's your real answer.

It probably just means that either the company is not having as good a year, or that you are higher now in the salary range that you were last year. It could also be that the raise is lower because you're getting more in commissions so they're looking at your total compensation.

If you're worried, ask your manager about it. 5% is still a very healthy increase.
