Aside from food and medical help, she made them feel like they were worth something. She would take someone who was thrown on the street like a piece of garbage and speak lovingly to them, feed them and dress their wounds. On a personal level - she tended to the sick and spoke out in Indian society for their welfare.

She made people suffer worse than they already were, in line with her being in the catholic cult. They believe that suffering causes them some brownie points.
Catholics are not saved, and not Christians. They are a Babylonian pagan cult with a false gospel of works that leads to eternal hell, which is where "mother" Teresa ended up.

she did not.
she was a sadist that enjoyed watching people suffer.
although many of the afflictions for the people under her "care" could have been cured or they could have had thier pain alleviated, mother theresa did neither.
she believed that suffering brings one closer to god.
