First of all, the only way to get him to stop stealing your underwear is to put it somewhere where he cannot reach it... problem solved! Second of all, if your dog is tearing your house apart, he needs to be crated. Crating is NOT CRUEL and it will save your belongings from being destroyed!!!

I have a 6 year old male pit bull named Max. He is an excellent dog. He never tears up the house and I work 8 to 5 five days a week. When he does something though, it is like he is clowning around, asnd I know that he doesn't mean it. Your dog is still a puppy, and puppies do things....he will mellow out with age. Good LucK!

He is still a puppy so you have to teach him his manners.
He really should be in a crate with his toys when you leave him alone or in a closed or gated room, like a laundry room or kitchen.
After a while, you can start leaving him out when you are gone for short periods of time, like running an errand for 10 minutes.
As he gets older, you will be able to leave him out for longer periods of time.
Destructive puppies should not have the run of the house. He will never learn on his own. He has to be trained.

I have a 9 month old American Bulldog and she does the same thing. One thing my fiance and I found that works wonders, is a spray called Bitter Apple. We got it from Petco. Its a bitter tasting spray that we have sprayed on anything Frankie chews. It doesnt harm clothing, or any kind of fabric. It stopped her chewing my shoes, socks, underwear, etc.
I agree, it is not cruel to crate your dog. We crate trained Frankie until she was 8 months old. We would give her a chewy with peanut butter on it, and she knew automatically that when she smelt peanut butter, she ran right to her crate. Do not use the crate as discipline. The crate needs to be warm, comfy, cozy and place of security for your puppy. We always referred to the crate as "home".
As far as him eating rocks, I would say that is pretty normal. With American Bulldogs being in the same family as the Pit Bull (bull terriers) my dog constantly goes for rocks. Although, we dont let her eat rocks, we instead trade the rocks for a chewy, rope, or little tire. Frankie always likes to eat BIG sticks, and has tried to eat light bulbs, all kinds of trash, a glass, candles, etc. She is just curious as im sure your puppy is also. Like I said, the best thing we invested in, was the Bitter Apple puppy spray. It doesnt hurt the puppy, just gives them a bad taste in their mouth and teaches them not to go for the same piece of clothing or item anymore.
Hope this helps :o)

my cousin had a pit bull that did the same thing and when they tried to crate her she tried to bite her way out and cut her gums all up then one day she chewed up the from door and got out its probably because hes scared your not coming back give him a bone and leave for only a little while and come back and spend time with him then a few days latter leave the house for long keep doing that and he should stop

put your hamper in a place he can't get to. you probably need to crate him, when your not home. our male pit is a year and a half now, and i crate him when i have to leave for work, or our house would be destroyed. the girls i leave out, cuz they just sleep. i also have someone come over and let them all out to go potty. it's not cruel in anyway, but it will save you the clean up and headache. gunnermack, loves rocks to, anything he can gnaw on for awhile. he especially loves his daddy's paint rags, go figure. pits are just big clowns, and big babies to boot. gotta love em'
