I don't have to believe in tofu, I ate it before it was popular. It's not much as a religion, rather bland and tasteless (although that's what some people like in their religion). The question is what you'd be converting from. Usually you'd be baptised in soy sauce and anointed with garlic chives freshly chopped, but some also go through a trial by fire, even with hot chili oil.[Some also like stinky tofu, but that is only for the most devout.] Many like to take it gradually, starting with small cubes mixed in their regular stir fry. Some go the whole route, placing it right next to the sliced Kobayashi beef in their Sukiyaki (I'd advise this as it's more tasteful and still gives you an out if the first mouthful doesn't suit, there's always beef, udon, and veggies to go for). Don't try to substitute it for your regular religion, tofu burgers don't do it any more than Presbyterian Buddhists. Thanks for a tasteful question =).
[Old Dawg: The very thought of Kimchee makes my mouth and eyes water, Northern or Southern style, red, brown, or white? a couple of mouthfuls of that and tofu would be a cooling relief! Between the garlic and peppers the devout seeker after tofu would see it as only supplementary to the true faith.]
[megalomaniac: Mmmmmm! Dòuhuǎ, the dessert tofus of S.E Asia!!!! What a wonderful introduction. Please pass the lime and ginger syrup! Hold the Lychees.][Vegemite, Blyechhh! The Brits do know how to ruin things, absolutely peitential. I'd rather do snake handling down in the lower Appalachians.)

I love tofu and I'm a large muscular male. (and I'm confident too so I don't care if people think its for wimps) I didn't always like it but I have adjusted to it and now its a regular part of my diet.
Mostly for environmental reasons I'm about 90% vegetarian (I eat some meat and fish but I don't feel the need for it with every meal) and tofu and other soy products a very healthy way to get your protein.
It is rather tasteless so the key is to mix it with other flavourful foods and spices.
Asian cuisine does some wonderful things with tofu.
If you don't like the texture, get the really firm stuff and slice it up and add it to sandwiches or salads. I like soft tofu deserts with mango or almond flavouring.
I make a bagel tofu brushetta that is fantastic. Take a toasted half bagel, add a couple of slices of firm tofu, drizzle with olive oil and then top it off with a mixture of tomatoes, olive oil, fresh basil and salt and pepper (I like to add cayenne too)
Fried tofu is also excellent.
There are dozens of good ways to use it and its a cheap, healthy way to get good quality protein.
Oh yeah, you're question - yes, I believe in it and while I do like it, I'm not sure it qualifies as a religious experience.

Tofu? It's part of my meals everyday. It's vegetably delicious! Protein filled and very nutritious.
You need to be in skillful hands to be converted just as chosen soya beans well processed into tofu...

I can't convert you... only the tofu has that power. I can only tell you the marvelous truth about the tofu but in the end, it will be the tofu, not I, that truly changes your heart.

I DO believe in Tofu, it DOES exist. NOW the question should have been, "Do you eat Tofu?". And the answer to that is, "Only when I run out of BLACK rubber to chew on." LOL

I love tofu.. very much..
There are many types of tofu, the soft one, the hard one, the silky one. It is so cookable. It is very versatile and is not boring. I can eat it everyday.. Low fat and high in protein. I love tofu.. Yuuuum...
Does it sound convincing enough?

I like it. It takes on the flavor of whatever you put it in. I've had some great Chinese tofu dishes. In one, they stuffed it with some seafood, fried it, and covered it with a brown sauce. It was delicious.
