I have often wondered about this. I treasure the freedom to go to church I know thousands of young men died to fight for this right.

I mean do you think church would suddenly become more interesting?
Isn't that human nature, to want what you cannot have? Right now it's "freedom from hearing the gospel" people seem to want.

This describes Christianity's first 250 years! It WAS illegal to be a Christian back then. And that meant that those who practiced Christianity were serious about living it, not just hanging around.

If Christianity were suddenly outlawed again, membership would go way down, but the quality would go way up. There'd be a lot more commitment to the community and a lot less showy piety.

But I'm not sure what soldiers killing people has to do with defending Christianity. The early Christians did not "fight" outsiders. It would have been against their religion.

Laws wont change how a Christian feels. BEsides the church is us, those that believe and obey the teachings of God in the HOly Bible with the full teachings of Jesus Christ. We are the church, rather we are in a building called church, at home, or in our garden, we are the church. IF a law said we couldnt go to church anymore, it would change nothing. We would jsuthave churches at home, and yes it will come to that, according to scripture. Study on the last days, Oh yes, its coming down. Non believers hate christians and will continue to rebel against God, and they will hunt us done and want us dead. But, noone can take what we hold in our hears and our minds, God has it all written there, on our hearts and in our minds, that noone can ever take it away. WE are Gods children, and He will protect us. No weapon formed against us will prosper, if we are loving God and in His abiding care, with obedience. We obey because we love GOd, not because we have to. WE obey from love, just like He lvoes us. Press on sister girl. press on with JEsus.

People would probably talk like they really wanted to go, but actual interest in church would not change. People would sure complain about not having the choice, though.

No, some people are so proud to believe that they can make it without God and the fact that you forbid them to pray or go to church wouldn't affect those folks.

Yes, they would. When Russia was under communist control, many Jews and Christians felt they were oppressed because they could not attend religious services.

If there was nowhere to go, I would read and study my bible at home with my family/ friends-- do our own bible studies and we would pray all we want! I would NEVER stop praying or studying God's word. I would continue to do devotions with my kids too!

If they are serious Christians they will try to meet with other believers anywhere they can, and they will still keep active in prayer.

I doubt it. They would simply worship at home or in home based groups much like the religions who are ridiculed now do.
