First, talk to them politely and ask them to turn the music down. It's always good to start with being friendly.
Second, find out what the noise ordinances are for your area. Any police officer should be familiar with them. Always call them about half an hour after the noise ordinances start.
If that doesn't work, then wait until they turn their music off at 10am, and then start playing your own loud music. Be sure to play it very loud, and then maybe go shopping.

I sometimes think that by complaining you could make matters worse. It could end up being 7 nights a week, not just the Friday and Saturday. Parts of society are just scum. They have little regard for anybody else so I dont think that by asking them to 'turn it down, im trying to sleep' will carry much weight with them. Buy some wax ear plugs from Boots, then when you get up on Saturday or Sunday morning, let rip. They'll get the message.... They may even change their ways. If they dont, they would never have done anyway, so at least you are giving them as good as you get.

I had the same problem before i moved so i know how annoying it is. These people have no consideration for you and don't care if you have to get up for work or have kids- whatever. You should call the council and get the number for the sound police (that's not their official name) and they will come round to yours for a few minutes to monitor the noise level with a little machine they have. They will then send the neighbours a letter or pay them a visit, it's anonymous so they won't know it's you. After 9pm they really are taking the piss. I feel for you. If they get more than two warnings, they can be evicted.. Good luck

Hi
If you are in the UK then here is what you do.
Keep an accurate diary of the noise. Dates, time it starts and finishes, how it affects you.
Then, after a few weeks, call your Local Council and they will put you onto the community Noise Pollution/control team. They have extensive powers.
Thats it really.
Normally, a formal warning from them to your neighbours is enough to stop the problem or they will be faced with court action which can result in heavy fines and bailiff orders to seize their sterio equipment!
If your sleepless nights are making you ill, its a fantastic idea to see your Doctor and tell him all about it. He will put that on record which will support your case if it went that far and as well as the ear plugs, he may also be willing to give you a short course of sleeping tablets to help you.
good luck.

I have had this problem and I do sympathise with you. Firstly call environmental health at your local council. They will either pay them a visit and say they have had a few complaints from various neighbours (so that its not obvious that it s you thats complaining) or they will send out a letter to them warning them. Either should show them how much of a nuisance they are being. Most people don't realise how loud their music can be especially at the weekend when they are tanked up! Good luck

first of all you should find out if it is rented property that your neighbours live in then you should keep a diary of everything that happens there weather's it s loud music or anything else that they are doing. It is classed as anti social behaviour and you can report it anonymously so they wont know you reported them. Best of luck.
