I kinda have a weird medical question but need advice considering money is tight for a doctor visit. Here is the situation: When I wake in the morning I have a flat tummy. I eat a small dinner tight night before about 4 hours before bed ( i don't eat before bed b/c of the slow metabolism). Last night was a bowl of Ramen noodles and a slice of bread. Next day: nothing for breakfast (if i ask breakfast it makes me noxious all day) by the time lunch came at noon I had a hamburger from sonic and only ate half of it. Now my stomach is swollen to the size of a small beach ball. I know i'm not pregnant (just finished my period) and it's nothing to do with constipation (took medicine for that) so what's wrong? Gas? or something more serious? This only started about a week ago!!!

i know the first thing is DUH it's gas - but for my stomach to swell so quickly? This has just nevered happened before my mo in -law (before she passed) got a swollen stomach after meals b/c her kidneys shut down.

Well, yes you ate a greasy cheeseburger! Of course gas can hit you quickly when you eat - that's why they make products such as Beano to take before you eat to cut down on gas.

Its possible you have IBS (irritable bowel syndrom).

I suggest gasx, immodium, beano, or pepto bisbol when this happens to you.

Hi xindaiel, the food you are eating is all very slow to digest (based on what you said you have eaten)

The bread in the bun, the grease from the hamburger, they all just sit in the gut and ferment rather than digesting so it's no surprise that your stomach feels bloated.

You need to start eating fruits and vegetables to get your digestive system moving.

Ramen noodles contain no nutritional value and the bread (I suspect is white bread) so again, virtually no nutritional value and both lack enzymes to help with digestion.

You skip breakfast, the most important meal of the day because you say it makes you noxious. Have you tried just eating fruit for breakfast or an hour after you get up. That would get your digestive system going in the morning.

The hamburger, again no nutritional value, high in fat and carbs. Again no digest enzymes to help your body digest this substance.

You aren't eating enough.......and what you are eating does not nurture the body. You won't gain weight if you start eating fruits or vegetables with every meal and snacks of the same between meals. You'll have more energy, look great and not have this bloated feeling........after your body adjusts to proper eating.

And drink lots of water between meals to help the body rid itself of toxins, keep you regular and hydrate all of your organs.

Your diet is terrible. It's full of sodium, so of course you're going to swell up. You should see your doctor just in case it's something more serious, but eat something healthy. You'll feel better. Lay off the salt.

I'm sure it is nothing more than gas due to to infrequent meals and meals with too much carbs. maybe you are alergic to wheat (gluten)... this causes swelling in the abdomen. But to be sure, there is nothing like a visit to the doctor. Touche.

You could be loosing muscle mass around your intestines. It has to do with eating meat and exercising. Since i cant examine you though, i am not going to commit to a diagnosis. I'm sorry but i cant help you.
