Today, when I came home from work, my neighbor was out playing with his puppies. He was rolling on the ground with them, barking at them, etc... Has anyone else witnessed something like this? The guy is 20 years old. I guess he just loves his puppies.

Everybody loves puppies, I think it is perfectly normal behavior. I think It shows that he will probably be a good daddy. If he plays with his dogs like that he will probably play with his children even more! My husband does it all the time and our dogs our now 1 and 2 years old. Actually the funniest thing I ever saw my husband do was, he was folding up the laundry and I came to the bedroom door just as he was finishing and he didn't know I was there. He had the laundry basket on his head and he was talking to our dog. She was going crazy, it was so funny. I still tease him about doing that!

Yeah and what's wrong with that?? If you have never rolled in the grass and played with puppies.. You are missing out on some great fun !

He loves his puppies! Everyone who loved their pets will almost surly do the same. We play with our dogs and puppies all the time. Nothing out of the normal here.

Sounds like my guy.... who I found sleeping in the whelping box with week old Berner pups. 6'7" guy, momma Berner an 7 pups all sound asleep.
Edit: Cindy, I used to show a dog who would get bored... I taught him a few tricks to keep him entertained.. but his favorite for the Group ring was my singing to him "You are My Sunshine". He'd tilt his head this way and that... smile at me and wag his tail ... (the other dog handlers were less impressed).

Do you not see adults doing the same thing with children??? Dogs are just like kids to a dog lover! They are a part of the family.

Well I am 27, have a good job, my own house, car, husband etc. but most evenings sees a daft half hour in our house, where me and the four dogs have a rare old time tumbling about the floor, chasing each other etc. Mad? Yup. Great fun? Hell yeah!

Explain what? Playing with puppies? Is this unnatural to you that someone would actually want to entertain and HAVE FUN with cute little puppies?
Perhaps you can explain to ME why you think this was weird. Cuz I don't see an ounce of weirdness to his behavior.

He was just playing with his dogs. Nothing wrong with that.
Yes, I have seen people FAR older than 20 doing this.

as a kid my parents bred dogs,they used to put me in the yard with the puppy's to play,and we all learned how to get along,maby that's what he is doing?
