you do no longer might desire to sedate your canines. you will get a plug in gadget that's like an air freshener which releases DAP (canines Appeasing Hormone) that's released by way of lactating bitches to calm their puppies. that could be a lot kinder than sedation. you ought to ask your vet approximately it or seem on line. additionally jointly as the fireworks are going off you ought to play some loud music or watch television to conceal the sound. do no longer react negatively in the journey that your canines is scared yet do no longer fuss the two. some days in the past the fireworks start up you additionally could make a 'den' on your canines with blankets, a chew toy or some water. someplace the place they experience secure. some canines even % to lie below a table with a blanket over the suited. i do no longer think of sedation is the respond. i'm hoping this helps!

OK, so your dog kicks up a fuss for this kind of thing. Maybe you should start actually taking notice of her - she doesn't want to be dressed up and photographed! She's a dog, not a glamour model or a toy!

You're American aren't you? Like the film Legally Blonde by any chance?

Here's a tip: dog's are not human beings. They're living creatures with feelings (different feelings to humans) - how about you start treating her like what she is.

Don't give her ANY kind of medication unless it's recommended and dispensed by her vet!

Sedating a dog for safety reasons is one thing, but even considering this for "pictures in outfits" is inhumane. I can't believe you would think about doing this. Do you love your dog? I'm sure you'll say yes. Then why would you want to do something to her that stresses her out so badly that you need to consider sedation?

If you want to play dress up, get a Barbie. Leave the poor dog alone.

I'm sorry, but this is just ridiculous.

Ok never give your dog anything to sedate her without first talking to your vet. I work for a vet and you would be surprised at the things that could hurt or even kill animals that is ok for humans. There are drugs that some vets do sale to people for cases like traveling long distances to calm your dog down, and would probably work for you in this situation. But be sure to talk to a professional about it before you give her anything. Too often people listen to friends or internet and this could be awful for you and your dog in your situation.

You don't need sedation, you need a better photographer. If your photographer would even suggest or allow this, I would NOT work with this person.

I have been doing pet portrait work for some time and I find that they are very much like toddlers. I sure wouldn't sedate my 2 yr old, just for photos. A good photographer is PATIENT with a pet and/or child to get that perfect shot.

Don't sedate a dog for something like this, it's not worth it.

OMG- you don't have children do you? please say you don't. If you are not in fact responsible for the care of any other human beings, here's what you do......drop your dog at doggy day care, she'll have a blast- then go home and sedate yourself- just about anything will do- shots of tequila, a six pack, whatever works for you. Take a nice long nap, then go to the store and return the ridiculous doggy outfits, get your dog a new bed or some toys or something, then go pick her up and bring her home....voila- everyone's happy

Why not just go with her and try to keep her calm and bring a bunch of toys instead? Sedatives should not be given to dogs for reasons like this. Why not just get a digital camera and take a ton of pictures of her in all her cuteness at home? My dog has tons of fun playing "oh crap, mom has the camera, I need to move now."

Clothes for a dog are very unnatural for the dog, and very uncomfortable. Especially 25 different outfits.

While there are drugs that will calm dogs that your vet can give you, I would question why you want to drug the dog just so you can have some fun.

Have fun in other ways with the dog, like playing fetch and running with them, and leave the costumes to the humans.

DO NOT give her tylenol PM. Tylenol is toxic in dogs and will cause kidney and liver failure!!! Only give her veterinary perscribed drugs! My dog recently got ahold of an Aleve bottle and ended up with a bleeding ulcer! Only vet perscribed medication! Or getting your dog to calm down for pictures will be the least of your worries. Trust me! My dog was very sick!
