They were bite-sized, circular short bread and then they had a dollop of chocolate in the middle. I am thinking they may have been called "sweet spots". Does that ring a bell with anyone?

Carol C,
It wasn't the magic middles. The dollop of chocolate was on the exterior of the cookies. But thanks for the memory of another delicious cookie.

Burrchillies,
Yeah, It could have been star shape. I remember the consistency of the chocolate to be almost like a Hershey kiss. I think you know what I'm talking about.

Palemalefriend and Joe,
Both of those are very similar, but not what I was talking about. They both look quite yummy though. I am pretty positive these aren't made anymore, at least not in my area.

Hello:

I have never heard of these type of cookies but you could check either Google or E-Bay because maybe they might have what you are looking for!

OMG....I think the name of them may have been 'SweetSpots' and they were round 1 or 2 bite size and came in a rather long large box, with the cookies packaged with like 4 to a little tough plastic covered paper tray. I was just looking for some tonight at the store! They weren't Sandies, they definitely were shortbread. THE MINUTE I find something I love I guarantee it will be discontinued!! I guess they have no taste and don't care to make any profits! Whatever.

Hi Anita.

I don't know if these are the exact same cookie you're talking about, but they sound like them.

They were round & bite-sized, & had that dollop of chocolate on them. The chocolate wasn't hard, but like you said, kind of the consistency of Hershey's Kisses.

The ones I'm thinking of are by Stella D'oro. You could see the top tray right through the cellophane. There was another tray underneath.

They are called Swiss Fudge Cookies by Stella D'oro. They are delicious. I don't really like cookies, and I don't really like chocolate; but these are impossible to stop eating.

If these are not the ones you are thinking about, try them. I guarantee you will like them.

Good luck in your cookie hunt.

If the dollop you're talking about was star-shaped, yes, I do remember it. And when I say "Star-Shaped" I mean done with a star type pastry tip. Those were the BOMB! The chocolate dollop was more fudgy then icing, right? I have NO CLUE what these were called, but I LOVE them!

Keebler now has their pecan sandies with the dollop on them. You can get either chocolate or vanilla. I believe the other person here is correct, in saying Thumprints.
