i am often confused when group phto graphs appear in news papers ---with title police caught criminals. they are dressed alike , look alike and pose alike. It is diffucult to distinguish who has caught whom

why should not the news papers carry the separate photographs for being clearly discernible

i agree police are on the right side of criminals

for photo sessions it appears they are not hand cuffed

the arrests and encounter ( genuine) take place when there is dispute on sharing the bounty of the booty and it is settled by force !!!!

More than likely, you will find the accused or a defendant in the middle of the picture. The police will be to his/her right and left hand side. The reason I wrote "defendant" is to presume them innocent till proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.

Now they are differentiated by wearing black masks. You can identify the criminals from face.

After all they are going to be strangers for most of the readers so it doesn't really matter.
