I wash my face twice a with cleansing cream. Once in the morning when I wake up and once at night in the shower. When I'm done washing my pores appear lighter. But a few hours later they appear to be back to their original darkness. What's going on? doens't this mean that this extensive washing my face is pointless?

The cleansing cream is blocking your pores. You need to either buy a toner to use afterward, to get all the cream off your face, or buy a different kind of cleanser. I used to use cream cleansers, and it was the worst thing I could have done for my skin. Blocked pores and blackheads. Try Neutrogena Deep Clean - I loved it, it really cleared out my pores.

Washing with warm water will open your pores, cleaning the dirt from them. Rinsing with cold water will close them again, making them less apt to collect dirt in the first few hours after washing your face.
