I would like to know my options with the bus or train lines. Or maybe what bus or train would get me to Flatbush, from the Port Authority in 42nd st?

Thanks. Since I'm not a New Yorker may you please tell me where I could catch the bus. Oh thanks for the map, it's too bad that I can't read it. By the way, I'm going to 973 Flatbush, if it would help..

It really depends on exactly where you are going but the 2 and 5 train from Times Square will get you somewhere in the middle.

Yes. Make up a sign with your end destination and then start hitchhiking. My experience has been that someone will pick you up.
