Naw, I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling, do you?

So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people. They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winning and former Governor Joe Foss, but leave Muslim Males between the ages 17 and 40 alone lest they be guilty of profiling.

Notice I stated no opinion of this matter I just asked if you think after reading this, America should be more tolerant.

It was an actual question not opinion.

Sister,
This time you're preaching to the choir. I totally agree with you. The last time my wife and I tried to board a plane, we got stopped at the boarding area metal detector because my wife has a titanium hip implant. Despite the quarter-inch wide by twelve inch long bright pink scar over her left hip, we were not allowed to board the plane. Seems we should have had a doctor's note to prove that it was a prosthesis inside her hip, rather than a surgically implanted terrorist's bomb. (Really!) The irony was that we were traveling for a check-up visit with the very doctor who had installed the artificial hip, six months earlier. We ended up riding a series of taxis, buses, and trains and, after a very long day and a sleepless night on the road, managed to arrive just in time for her appointment. After seeing her doctor, we treated ourselves to a sleeping compartment on the return train and enjoyed the privacy and comfort of more leisurely travel. Loved it! I doubt we'll ever fly again.

If those security boobs have so little judgement they couldn't see that my wife -- a 66 year old blond, blue-eyed, over-weight, retired school teacher, who uses a cane, walks with a pronounced limp, and has an enormous scar on her hip -- is not a terrorist, then nobody's ever going to be truly safe again. It still gives me the creeps to recall that we could've effortlessly boarded that plane if we'd just had a forged doctor's note, explaining why the "pseudo-bomb" in my wife's left hip was setting off the metal detectors. We'd have had a much easier time of it if they'd had the common decency to do what any other intelligent cop would've done. Namely, interview us, use a little good judgement, and send us on our way.

As a rule I treat all people of all races with respect. I do make exceptions, however, and those exceptions are for people who have a holier than thou attitude. (Hello Pidlan!!) The attitude displayed in this question and the view on Islam by the asker is one such example. I feel I must point out that I respond in this manner to those of other faiths who have the same attitude and not just Muslims. To make the claim that Islam is tolerant is laughable. Islam is anything but tolerant. But, I should point out that Christianity shares this intolerant trait. Religion is a cancer, a tumour that needs to be cut away from society and the human race as a whole. Islam, just like Christianity, creates divisions, animosity and bigotry. In many Islamic states, women have no rights, no civil liberties. If anything a camel is treated with more respect. A misunderstanding, or a misdemeanour means that you could end up losing your head! At an archaeological site somewhere in the ahem, desert, I found an idol. It was a Canaanite fertility goddess, not unlike those found on sites across Europe. The goddess was Ashera. I exclaimed, "Look, I've found God's wife!" Everyone that was there laughed, oohed and aahed. We had found some other interesting artifacts, but this was a huge find. However, unbeknown to me and everyone else, a soldier took offence to the wife of God making an appearance. To cut a long story short he opened fire and tried to kill me in the name of God, shouting Allahu Akbar!!! Three months later I was visiting a friend of mine and in a bar of a town in Alabama, a local pulled out his gun when I told him he could stick his god where the sun don't shine! He came on strong on to my colleague, she's gay. There is a real long story to that, but I've shortened it considerably! Anyway, I digress. Just like I said to the homophobic, in bred red neck in Alabama, stick your holier than thou attitude and your bullshit religion where the sun don't shine! Oh and BTW. "The tragedy of the human race is that morality has been hi-jacked by religion." We, the human race have morality within us. We also created a bronze age god that some people kill other people in his name. Insane, or what? Peace be upon you.

Two things are obvious:

1) The first ten answerers to this question don't live in New York

2) The first ten answerers to this question don't have a clue as to the reality of today's world

All us fundies want to do is change their beliefs. Muslim extremists define infidels as anyone NOT in agreement with THIER beliefs, and they want us all dead; regardless of whether you're Christian, atheist, Catholic, Republican, Democrat, Baptist, Methodist, Unitarian, etc.
What is it going to cost for America to realize this? Chicago? Los Angleles? Miami? Memphis? How about a Nuke from Iran to a random USA target because their aim isn't that good, they just HATE us?
Don't forget what absolute CHAMPIONS of womens rights Muslims are.

Let's see. You gave 13 examples, and there are probably hundreds of millions of Muslim males between the the ages of 17 and 40. So no, to answer your question, you certainly did not show a pattern to justify profiling. Just because most terrorists may be of one group, does not mean that most members of that group may be terrorists. That's one reason why law enforcement professionals agree that profiling is a waste of time and resources.

Allow me to point out that :

- a muslim male can be Asian, African, Caucasian, Indian, and any other an you can find around, as well as American.

- The profiling you mentioned targets only Middle-Easterners.

- There are muslim women who have joined the ranks of the extremists. Indeed, they try to recruit them to make it easier to hide their mass-murderers when they go through check points or customs.

Which means that every person looking Asian, African, Caucasian, Indian and any other an, Americans included, male and female, have to be profiled.

I have to admit, we should not be tolerant of murdering Muslim male extremists mostly between the ages of 17 and 40.

Of course, we should not be tolerant of any murderers, regardless of religion, sex or age.

muslim EXTREMISTS. not muslims. there is no excuse for racial profiling. the extremists who hate america and want to kill us are a very inaccurate representation of the muslim community but because americans are so stupid we don't understand that. we think muslim=terrorist. the administration and the media are the ones creating and perpetuating this way of thinking. remember: timothy mcvay who did the oklahoma city bombing was white. should all white males be treated as terrorists? of course not. assuming all muslims are terrorists is no different.

Bobby Kennedy was shot by his body guard at point blank range 2" behind his head. Read a little history. Sirhan Sirhan fired 7 shots and 8 shots were fired in that room. Most of what other stuff you say is accurate, but then just like Sirhan Sirhan, they may have been set up to take the fall.

We know this already, so it doesnt change anything. BUt, it reminds us. We are to love the sinner, but hate the sin. WE arent to tolerate sin in any situation. From their own religion, we know they want the infidels NON MUSLIMS, killed, its in the Koran. We are the invidels.. So, we know how they feel But some will come into Jesus, just like the Jews, and others, before Jesus comes. SO we are to love them, pray for them, and to live on this earth living like Jesus , speaking like Jesus, praying to get a few to see Jesus in us and to give their lives to Him. There have already been many conversions, and more will come.
Yet, does that mean we are to act stupid and put them into our political situations where they would have access to knowledge that an enemy should never have??? Of course not. God wants us to have knowledge and wisdom that is His and it is power. But, we are to know what to do with that, to do things His way. Racial profiling as a means to hate is wrong. But, it is not wrong to know facts and do what you can to protect ourselves. I was once asked if I was being followed at night by a black or white man, which would scare me the most. I truly would be afrid of both the same, yet at the same time, I would know that so many blacks hates whites and it could mean a higher chance of him wanting to hurt me than within my own race. I was called a racist. Absolutely not. facts are facts. IF the white man was following me, i would still be afraid and cautious, as I am aware of some men being mean. Some women can be mean too. So I am not into generalizations and hate and all of that. YEt, being intelligent means being aware of things that other ppl often hate me that I dont hate, and I have to be aware of that to protect myself. Would I be more afraid of a man that a woman?? YES. More men no mater the color, commit serious crime, especially rape. So do I hate men then? NO. I hate noone, but we msut use the knowledge God gives to us to know how to protect ourselves. I hate noone, God loves us all the same, but not everyone acts like that or believes that. Knowledge is power when its Gods.... amen

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

The above shows my views on the matter. If you target one group another will follow and so on until they come for you.
