Usually wisdom teeth are removed because of their position in the mouth, so far back that they don't mate with the opposing wisdom teeth and therefore aren't any good for chewing anyway.
I kept mine for a long time but since they were so far back, they were hard to brush and eventually I was getting cavities. Economically, it was cheaper to have them pulled rather than having useless teeth filled.
If they aren't decaying and it's expensive to have them pulled, I'd keep them but also keep in mind that they eventually will decay. Wait 'til you have a good dental plan and then get rid of them.
GOOD luck.

Have three out of four and have no problems. They are not used for many things since they are so far back in the mouth but there is never a reason to have dental work done if the teeth and gums are healthy.

Me too! I have all 4 - 2 out, 2 still hiding in there somewhere. Dentist wanted to pull one of them awhile ago, he said he detected a small cavity starting (on X-ray). I said I have no pain and I'll wait awhile on that one. Do occasionally nick my inside cheek with one, try to be careful.

I have my wisdom teeth too, but in my case I need to get them removed, they are cutting into my cheek when I bite down, it's very painful, but other then that they are healthy teeth, just in the way.

The best website you can go to, in order to find out everything on specialist wisdom teeth removal, costs, stories related to wisdom teeth, IV sedation vs GA or plain LA, post operative care (including diets), complications (like numb lip) as well as newsletters about wisdom teeth, is http://www.oceansurgical.com.au .... Good luck, I hope everything goes well for you! And remember, only go to an oral and maxillofacial surgeon to have your wisdom teeth removed. You can find out about OM surgeons in your Australian town by going to http://www.anzaoms.org

I agree with you, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I'd get another opinion, preferably an oral surgeon. I've got 2 of mine still. My dentist said I could leave them alone since they're not impacting anything.
