oats are supposed to be calming.
good for the nervous system,so is brown rice.
does anybody feel calmer after porridge?

I think what you're trying to get at with all your oat-based questions is this: Oats have a low glycaemic index, which means that sugars made after eating this are released slowly into your body. If you eat something like Sugar Puffs, which are made with wheat and have a high glycaemic index because of that and the sugar, you will have a blood sugar rush which will drop off mid-morning and you'll feel hungrier quicker. I feel full of porridge.
And because of its low GI I feel fuller for longer.
That makes me quite happy I suppose.
