My cat has herpes virus and gets alot of URI's. Two weeks ago, I asked a question and alot of people told me to give her l-lysine! Since then, her eyes aren't watery anymore and she stopped sneezing. She looks much better now! Now, all I have to do is get her ear infection to clear up and that's coming along well too! So, I just wanted to thank the people who helped me with her!! I think she's going to be ok and I will continue giving her the l-lysine! It seems to be doing miracles! So, thanks again, it's really appreciated!!

That's great to hear. You do know to drop to a "maintenance" dose day to day and step it up when another outbreak occurs. The l-lysine doesn't "cure" the situation. Other important aspects of controlling it are diet and keeping stress at a minimum.

A good diet of raw meat is far and away the best. You can try one of many now made commercially from a quality pet store or learn how to do your own.

I would keep a bottle of Rescue Remedy around the house - when the painters come, or you tear things up for remodel. The RR is also useful for vet trips. If you anticipate any upsetting events you can start the RR a day before by putting three or four drops on her fur four or five times a day. It cannot harm her in any way and you can use it as often as you want. It can help keep her emotional balance stable through stress.

That's good to hear! Ours responded very quickly to it also, and I cut back on the dose till I didn't need to give it to him any more.

Keep it on hand, if you get cold sores it works on people too.

Cortizone cream works fine, and it is inexpensive!
