I'm 26 yrs old and my girlfriend's been having some serious anxiety issues and i was thinking of taking her away from her daily routine to help her relax and clear her mind. Usually if you live in the city then philly, boston or DC are great weekend getaway spots but she doesn't want to go any of these places and has left it upon me to plan everything. I need someone's help please in suggesting places near (within 4hrs drive of nyc) where we both could go and have a good time and relax. I also recommended camping but she's afraid of insects. please help. Thanks =)

Cant beat the pocono's to get away from the city. Book a weekender there without all the noise of the city. Just an idea, but it may be on the right track

I third the Poconos. You can go for a walk/hike in the Delaware Water Gap and just chill.
You might also consider the eastern Connecticut shore...you could visit Mystic, Foxwoods, etc. and find some really cheap places to stay out there this time of year.

Poconos is the way to go since she's not into DC. Watch your speed once you cross the toll booth into PA. A squad car likes to hide near the 1st and 2nd under pass.

Go to Montauk. Go the beaches and the lighthouse. After drive around East Hampton, specifically Amagansett and drive around to see if you spot any celebrities. Many live out there during the weekends.

Some pretty good answers so far. Like the Montauk/Hampton's idea. Wineries, etc.
Check out here too, north instead of east:
