What kind of lenses would I need to photograph a fashion show?

Probably something equivalent to an 85mm to 105mm in 35mm - a 50mm on your digital camera would be equivalent to an 80mm on a 35mm camera.

A Nikon 35-70mm f2.8 AF zoom would give you 56-112mm equivalent on a 35mm film camera. This would be my choice. Nice focal lengths and at f2.8 its fast for a zoom.
