I will give you a scenario that could happen. A homosexual walks into church and hears the gospel preached. They then are moved by the gospel message and want to repent of all their sins and receive Christ as their Savior. They are now a born-again Christian. After weeks of studying the Bible they come to the conclusion that their homosexual behavior is a sin in the eyes of God. They strive to be what God wants them to be by the power of the Holy Spirit. If they die some time in the future and have never gotten rid of their homosexual tendencies, they will still be in heaven due to the one-time commitment they made to Christ. This goes for any other sin that Christians struggle with.

Do you think someone who lies can be a Christian? Do you think an adulterer can be a Christian? Do you think a murderer can be a Christian? How about disrespecting your parents...ever done that? See, while so many Christians focus on homosexuality, there is alot more in the bible about lying, cheating, adultery and other sins than there is about homosexuality. If you can't follow the 10 commandments, can you be a Christian? How many people in your church are committing adultery because they are divorced and remarried? Every day, they commit adultery...how can they be Christian?
Can you name a week when you didn't tell a lie? Did you tell your friend what you REALLY thought of their outfit? Were you completely honest when someone asked you how you were? Are you able to be completely honest all the time?
I guess the whole point here is, sin is sin. Homosexuality is no more of a sin than any other. The bible does not place a point system on sin. There are tons of them, and a lot of them are punishable by death...but when you stand in front of the Lord, there isn't anything that says one is worse than another. They are all simply defying God, and that's the part that's sinful. Ignoring any of them is defying God...and that's the sin part...so how could any of them be any worse than another?
Lion of Judah-
What commandments of Jesus is John talking about? Would those be the beatitudes? Or would that be where Jesus says that people of the same sex should not be together? I wasn't aware that Jesus said that, actually. Also, the rules in the bible are pretty clear...no man may lay with another man. How about women? That's not expressly forbidden in the inspired word of God, is it?

homosexuals have the right to be Christian. first and for most, they are still human beings which we (chrisitians) believe came from God. personally, i do not believe that somebody is and should be cursed because of his/her sexuality. when we meet the Man above, He will be asking 'what kind of person you have become on earth' on contrary to 'what are your accomplishments on earth.' I do believe God judges us as a person, who we are towards Him and His people, and not as creature alone. If God does not love homosexuals, then He is not the "God". Even a thief has the right to become a Christian, but the question becomes "is he a real Christian or not?" If a homosexual can serve God better than a killer, why would you deprive him/her the will to become a member of God's family despite the fact this judgement (You are allowed to be a Christian or not) is based on human intellect. it is the will that determines a person. If he/she is comfortable being a homosexual to become a better servant of God, then our human judgement should not interfere. I think he/she is more holy than a person who thinks doing evil is becoming a Christian.

Wow what a sticky question!! I believe they can believe in Christ...but there is the whole 'living in sin' thing that gets me. If someone can be homosexual AND a Christian, how CAN they repent? Its a deep philosophical question, for sure! I can't give a full honest answer...it actually kind of puzzles me!

Yes. The same way any other Christain is a christain. What I mean is that I have never met a christain that does not sin. They do it happens and if we are taught that all sins are equal then why would a homosexual be any worse than the liar, or the thief? It is this attitude that keeps these people from atending church , reading the bible, and praying. Who are we to make them feel unloved? Its on us to love them and let God deal with thier hearts.

Yes, of course a homosexual can be a Christian. You were not taught correctly.
Being a Christian requires one thing, belief in one God and acceptance of Jesus Christ as savior/messiah.
Homosexual sex is a sin, just as are lots of other sexual practices including sodomy (oral and anal), coitus interruptus, group sex, three-ways, etc. One does not need to refrain from sin to be a Christian. One, in fact, can't refrain from sin. The Bible says that all people sin (there is no one who always does what is right and never sins - Ecclesiastes 7:20)
A homosexual sinner is no different, worse or better than any other sinner such as those that perform fellatio and cunnilingus. So, if fellatio and cunnilingus performers can be Christians, then why can't homosexual sodomy performers?
Look Christianity teaches that (a) we all sin, and we all fall short of the glory of God, and (b) therefore we need redemption and forgiveness from sin which is brought to us bythe sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.
Whoever taught you that certain kinds of sinners can't receive redemption from Jesus doesn't know what Christianity is.

The bible teaches that you can't eat meat and diary together, also that you can't mix 2 types of seeds in the same field. Can you be a Christian if you eat a cheeseburger? How about if you have a lawn in your front yard?
The bible also says judge not lest you be judged. If you judge someone not a Christian, does that mean you aren't either?

The Bible says that God and his standards are unchangeable , that is , what he thought yesterday was badness today likewise is still badness.
God doesn't lower his standards to make sinners feel all happy with themselves.
And he most certainly doesn't accept the prayers and worship of person that practice vile things.
It is the individuals responsibility to make changes in order to please God , and not the other way around.
In the past God has destroyed ancient cities due to the inhabitants disgusting sexual acts and debased moral behavior of the people that lived there.
So just as then God didn't approve of such ways he still doesn't approve of them today.
People that do them are alienated from God , and will not get any blessings form him.
At death they will pay for their sinful ways.

Can practicing homosexuals be saved?
If a by "practicing homosexual" is meant a person who is openly approving of homosexuality and is engaged in it, can this person be saved? Yes and no. Yes because any sinner has the potential of becoming saved. On the other hand, if the person is professing to be a Christian yet is unrepentantly practicing homosexuality, then it would appear that he would not be saved. 1 John 2:4 says, "The one who says, “I have come to know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him." So, a homosexual can be saved, but once saved, the Spirit of God will move that person to repent of the sin of homosexuality. If a person continues to unrepentantly practice homosexuality, promoting it, etc., then that person would not be demonstrating evidence of regeneration.
But then again, a person could become saved, still fall into homosexuality, be convicted by the Spirit of the sin, all the while be seeking to break free from it. So technically, in this last sense, he could be saved and be a homosexual -- not as a life style, but as in struggling against his sin which sometimes can get the best of him. It would be like a drug addict becoming a Christian and still being hooked on drugs. He would struggle against and still have the desire to participate in it.
I would say that a person who has professed Christ and is struggling against sin is demonstrating evidence of regeneration. Remember, many people who become Christians still struggle with many of their old sins. Even Paul struggled, "For the good that I wish, I do not do; but I practice the very evil that I do not wish," (Rom. 7:19). We are not perfect and we must remember to be gracious to others, especially when they are stuck in an old sin, want to repent of it, and are trying to have victory over it. This is when grace is need, not law. But, of course, we are never to encourage or excuse a person's sin. We must pray for them to attain full victory.
Now, some Christians will state that once you become saved, you should automatically have victory over all your sins. This is an unfortunate burden they place on many Christians because "perfection" becomes the standard for measuring whether or not they are Christians. This can cause people to doubt their salvation. While it is true that we have victory in many areas when we become saved, it is also true that we still struggle with many of our old sins. Of course, it is never okay for us to go ahead and sin (Rom. 6:1-2). We must always struggle for holiness. But the fact is, like Paul, we sometimes do the things we don't want to do and don't do what we should. It is our struggle against sin that demonstrates that we are regenerate since we are seeking to be holy as God is holy (1 Pet. 1:16).
Finally, it is no dead people who struggle for life. Only those who are alive struggle. Likewise, the dead in sin, the unregenerate do not struggle against their sins. Christians do

The first thing you need to realize is that god did not say that. Men who wanted to control you did. What happens from there is a personal opinion.
